WORTH IT
I began searching for a surgeon to do a Tummy tuck, muscle repair, Breast Lift and possibly Lipo. I wasn't 100% sure I needed Lipo, but was open to the idea.
After consulting with a handful of surgeons, some local to me, others not so much. I was always intrigued with how Premium Care Plastic Surgery had their set up. I thought the consult was great, which was done over the phone. But I was still on the fence traveling to another country, especially with some of the really long layovers going to Colombia. Fast forward to just a couple months before I wanted to get the surgery done (I had actually booked with someone in Miami at this point) I ended up having to undergo a hysterectomy. Due to that I wasn't entirely sure if I could still do this surgery in August. After discussing with my Primary Care provider and my OBGYN they said I could do the Mommy Makeover 6 weeks after the hysterectomy. They did everything vaginally so I didn't have any outer incisions that needed to heal. Fast forward to finding out if my surgeon in Miami would do it at 6 weeks, he said no, so I himmed and hawed at sticking with him or maybe this was a sign to go somewhere else.
Fast forward to booking. I booked with Premium Care Plastic Surgery and just decided to dive right in.
The process was seamless, even though I probably made it seem like it wasn't because I think I asked the same question multiple times but in different ways. Haha!!
I arrived in Cartagena and was a nervous wreck. I don't know a lick of Spanish and of course have ZERO international calling outside of WiFi. But my driver made things so easy. He was kind enough to take me to the suites and then to my first post op as soon as I got through customs. I arrived the day before surgery, so it was pretty fast paced. I did my post op with Dr Campbell and felt sooo comfortable with him and his staff. How amazing are they?!?!!! We agreed on the TT, MR, BL and Lipo 360. He mentioned areas that he would do Lipo on that I would never have thought of (back of the arms, lower/upper back, inner/outer thighs, flanks). I got back to the suites, and they had my dinner made and ready for me on the table. It was simply AMAZING!! Veggies, rice, salad and smoothie. DELICIOUS!!
My surgery was scheduled the next day at 2pm, I slowly got myself ready, had my black cup of coffee before my time was up, mentally prepared myself for what the day and night would entail. Again, everyone is so welcoming and kind, even with the language barrier. Luckily Google Translate worked great in WiFi zones.
My driver picked me up and we headed to the clinic. We did prep and all the fun stuff...couldn't get my I.V. Set so they decided to give me the good ol' knock out gas mask in order to get it set. I wasn't at all shocked because no matter where I am, someone always struggles. haha!
Before I knew it, I was waking up in recovery. Remembering all the stories I had heard about feeling like an elephant was sitting on your chest, I simply reminded myself to take small breaths and remain calm. The nurses were absolutely phenomenal and patient waiting for me to be ready to return to the Recovery Suites. I did have a wonderful nurse stay with me the entire night. Her name was Annaliese (spelling is likely wrong). She was so amazing and reassuring. Next morning she got me coffee, checked my vitals, took pictures etc and made sure I was comfortable before leaving for the day. I really enjoyed and felt safe having someone there when I felt the most vulnerable.
There was always a staff member in the suite (I'm absolutely horrible with name, but I think her name was Corina). She cooked, cleaned, did laundry, all of the things.
My first post op appt was day 5, I believe. All looked well and was healing wonderfully. My drains weren't really a pain in the butt like I had anticipated if I'm being honest. I think the crotch zipper in the compression was more annoying. Hahahahah!! Once again, the staff at the clinic were all amazing. I would say the easiest days for me were days 1-7. After day 7 I started having some lower back swelling which is completely normal, but it did bog me down. Oh well, each day is another day closer to being fully recovered. At this point I had met with the massage therapist every day after surgery except Sunday and the massages really do help.
Friday (day 9 post op) was the day I got my drains out. Honestly, it was not my best day. It made me very ill. Queasy, sweaty, anxious etc etc. My incisions are healing wonderfully and I couldn't be happier with my results. Dr Campbell was awesome at answering any questions I had at this visit and said he was very impressed with my healing progress.
If someone told me just 6 months ago I should go here for surgery I'd probably think they were a little crazy, but I'm going to be completely honest. I am absolutely sooooo glad I came here. I stayed at the Recovery suites for 13 days totally from arrival until my flight was due to leave.
I have had the honor of sharing the suites with some others that had procedures done. And each one of them has been a positive impact on my recovery. Definitely made some new friends while here. I can't thank Dr Campbell, his wife and all of their staff enough for being simply amazing during a time that can be so scary for someone.
If I ever plan to have any more work done, I will definitely book with them again. I am now 1 month's post op and doing very well. Swelling that comes and goes depending on how active I am but I am thrilled with my results.
Thank you again to everyone at Premium Care Plastic Surgery

Just adding some photos to my review.
Things are still looking great! Worried there might be some development of fibrosis from wearing the foams too often and too long but only time will tell. Have had some spitting stitches in the areola but still very normal and so far no concerns.
