Cosmetic plastic surgery is truly a partnership between the plastic surgeon and the patient, and as in all good partnerships, open communication on both sides is the key to success. I'm grateful to practice aesthetic plastic surgery in Hawaii and to help men and women safely achieve their vision.

Many thanks to Dr. Larry and his team for their outstanding care and expertise!
I knew after our initial consultation that Dr. Schlesinger would be the best surgeon for me. He’s extremely knowledgeable, informative and very compassionate. He listened to all my concerns and how insecure I was with the nose I was born with. It’s always been really hard for me to talk with people about but not with Larry. He immediately made me very comfortable from the beginning. He has the ability to put a patient at ease with his calm and kind demeanor. He already had an amazing vision in mind just by taking one look at me and knew what steps we needed to take to give me my dream outcome. In addition, he has managed to put together the best staff in Oahu that are very helpful with any questions or concerns you may have. Everyone is always so extremely welcoming, friendly, and will make you feel like family. It’s always so nice being welcomed by smiling faces with good attitudes. Larry’s passion as a Dr. Truly shines through, and no one cares as much as he does. He will bend over backwards, working count less hours, even running behind schedule just to make sure you are truly taken care of, and happy with your end results. He has managed to give me back so much confidence again, and with each passing day I am ever more pleased with my end results. My new nose is so refreshing and constantly making me look in the mirror with nothing but smiles of joy. The best part is I still look like me, only better. I seriously could not be happier with my choice with going with Larry. I look forward to our continued relationship as a doctor, patient and friend. I am forever grateful, and you will always have a special place in my heart. Larry you have my highest recommendation for any new patient.
Dr. Schlesinger and his staff were wonderful - this was my first time getting injectables and they went above and beyond to answer all my questions and concerns. I had come in for fillers for my chin as it has been receding the last few years as I’ve gone into my 30s. After speaking with Dr. Schlesinger at length, he recommended Volux filler both at my chin and a a little for my nose to balance. It’s been 2 weeks now and I absolutely love how it looks - exactly what I was hoping for. Also, a completely bonus benefit is that I’m sleeping better at night. Always when I sleep, I’ve had problems with my mouth falling open and I end up waking up constantly with dry mouth. The fillers have helped me with more naturally allowing my mouth to close and I am not waking up as often reaching for a cup of water! Totally worth it and a great experience. Definitely I would recommend to do this if you’re the inking about it. I wish I had done sooner!
Caucasian 45 yr old 5'6" 220 lbs I couldn't be happier with the results and amazing post operative care. Dr. Schlesinger and his staff provided. He even offered a follow up / touch up at no cost (must pay Anesthesiologist). When doing research into Gynecomastia surgery you typically see a lot of power lifters who want definition, that was not my case. As a stocky guy myself he did an amazing job making it look natural. 100% recommend getting this surgery and Dr. Schlesinger.
Dr. Schlesinger is such an amazing surgeon/person! He takes the time to see what works for you, and gives you his honest feedback and helps you throughout the entire process. I had a mommy makeover done by him and he went beyond my expectations. Because of Dr. Schlesinger I am no longer depressed when I look in the mirror, I can actually like my body instead of constantly critiquing every inch on my body. He is a wonderful surgeon, I enjoy every visit with him!
I did my breast augmentation with dr. Schlesinger because my friends have done their procedures with him and they showed and told me their amazing results. Not only did I trust my friends' experience and results, I went in for a consultation myself and felt incredibly confident that I wanted to do my breast aug with dr Schlesinger. He was very informative, and educated me thoroughly about the different type of breasts and procedure options. I was amazed at how much he knew. He is clearly experienced and knowledgeable. He was very professional and his staff were extremely friendly. I felt nothing but confident and comfortable being around him and his staff. The procedure was a success and I was very pleased that he continued to see me until I was completely healed. (I heard most surgeons could care less after performing surgery and taking your money) however, Dr Schlesinger is different, he is genuinely a caring doctor where he wants to make sure your results are perfect and that you have a smooth recovery. Dr Schlesinger cares about how you feel and that's what I love the most about him. I have nothing but positive words for Dr Schlesinger and his staff. From pre surgery to post surgery, my experience on getting my first ever cosmetic surgery was amazing. I love my results and I love him and his staff. His work is stunning and I'm so glad I chose him to do my surgery. He is so genuine and trustworthy. If I ever have children in the future, I will definitely be going back to him to have a mommy makeover!
Everything went well and I am very pleased with my results. Process from beginning to end was great. Staff showed compassion and skill. Surgeon showed great follow-up care with more than just one visit.
I had a facelift done by a previous surgeon & it didn’t make any difference in my appearance. Dr Schlesinger did a true facelift & it made me look 20 years younger. Dr Schlesinger is a very caring doctor & he makes sure that you are comfortable & happy with the results. He goes above & beyond what is expected from a doctor. He is the best surgeon ever. My entire outlook on life has changed for the positive. It’s like Dr Schlesinger gave me a second chance at life. I feel like a young person again! Thank you Dr Schlesinger! You are the BEST!
I had my surgery on 9 September 2022. So far I'm not sure how to feel. I have a lot of swelling still but I'm trusting the process. I also have a lot of leakage coming from my belly button and may possibly have an infection in the belly button as well as a seroma in my lower belly. Updated on 1 Oct 2022: Before and 20 days post-op Updated on 1 Oct 2022: The dr. was able to take care of my belly button issue before it got bad. I made the mistake of waiting until my appt to point out the issue instead of calling him right away. Either way he acted fast when i brought the issue up. Updated on 6 Oct 2022: I have a big hard lump in my upper left abdomen that is red and sore. Could this be a hernia? Updated on 14 Oct 2022: I feel good about my results but i think I’ll feel a lot better after the 2nd round of lipo. Check out that slim waist Updated on 24 Jan 2023: I had my 3rd procedure today. What should have been Lipo of the upper and lower abdomen, hips and flanks turned into Lipo of my back and my abdomen not getting done at all because i kept losing oxygen from laying face down for over 3 hours. The exact thing happened during my first procedure so I’m not sure why it wasn’t expected to happen again. Needless to say, I’m not happy with my results. It’s been 7 months since my first procedure and i still don’t have what i initially went in for. A tummy tuck and Lipo should take dang near a year to achieve. My stomach sticks out more now than it did pre-surgery. I still can’t wear form fitting clothes because of the bulging. Updated on 30 May 2023: This has truly been an emotional event for me. I’m not gonna lie, I was not happy with my results initially. Mainly because, what was suppose to be 2 surgeries, turned into 4 because of complications with my blood supply and oxygen levels. Dr. Larry’s first priority is always the safety and health of the patient, and I’m appreciative of that. I think sometimes we (patients) want immediate results and thats just not how it works. I still have a little swelling but overall, I’m happy with my results. I had to get a lot of my pants altered because of the difference in my waist size. My results look natural and I’m glad i don’t have that noticeable artificial super flat tummy look. I look like i lost weight, and that’s exactly what i wanted.
At seven weeks post op……I can say I’m pretty happy with my revision! They have settled well and look so natural. I’m so glad it finally happened. Now on to my 50 year high school reunion!! I wonder if anyone will notice? Updated on 19 Sep 2022: I’m busy making preparations to travel this week and very happy to be going to my 50th High School reunion!! To say I’m thrilled to have done this revision is an understatement and I will be proud to wear a dress that shows them off. Updated on 10 Apr 2023: It’s been 9 months since my implant replacement and everything is normal. I don’t regret any of the work I’ve had done. I always tell people, “why not?” If you have the money, you should do this for yourself. Updated on 1 Jul 2023: It’s been a year this month and still looking good! Happy birthday to the “girls”!!! I couldn’t be happier at 69 years young….it’s never too late to take care of yourself!! If you’re considering surgery, do your research and then do it……
First question to be answered is, are your breast implants above or below the muscle? The top of the left breast shows the edge of the implant in the upper one-third. This almost always indicates a capsular contracture, but most importantly, pain and hardness are the two most common signs. I agree with the previous responder that an in-person evaluation will give you the quickest answer. At first glance, I would say you have a left sided capsular contracture, and more than likely a Baker III. That means both you and your surgeon agree that your breast is hard. A second eval from a Board Certified plastic surgeon would be advisable. The sidebar comment is that, if you are getting Singular as a treatment for possible capsular contracture, then you're wasting your time since Singular has a terrible record and has been "Black Boxed" by the FDA. Using zifurlukast (Accolate), an AstraZeneca product, has the greatest chance of softening your breast. However, a more modern 21st Century approach would be to find a Board Certified plastic surgeon with experience in PRP treatment for capsular contracture. If the PRP is transmitted into your tissue using a collagenizer, this will allow you to get the treatment without any incisions or surgery. Using PRP and Accolate is the simplest, least painful and least chance of recurring encapsulation.
Hi Emily. Your retrusive mandible can be corrected by facial injections. The retrusiveness of your mandible does not allow you to close your mouth naturally, and this causes the closure of the lower lip to have a forced look which makes you look unhappy. The reason for the problem is that the two muscles on either side of your anterior jaw called mentalis muscles have the job of closing your mouth by pushing up your lower lip. This normal closing process is inhibited when the profile of the mentalis muscles are not in line with your lower lip. This anatomic mumbo jumbo, in short means, when the lower lip and the chin are not in the same vertical plane, the lip won't close naturally. If you were my patient, I would do an injection of Volux, an Allergan product that lasts in my experience over a year, and sometimes up to two years. It usually takes 2-3 ccs to correct the retrusive chin. This can be done in an office setting with minimal discomfort. Since your bone structure has not fully matured, I would use an injectable rather than a surgery, and injectables such as Volux are completely reversible. The process should take less than 15 minutes, including topical numbing with BLT. To decrease bruising, I recommend both ice and DMSO.
Wow, what a great question. Obviously, it depends on the size of your wallet and the skill of your Board Certified plastic surgeon which will determine order of treatment. As I'm sure you know, as we get older, every part of your face goes south. If you do PRP first, you will add fullness to your cheeks, fill in the infra-orbital area with fullness rather than flatness, and, for that reason, you may want to try PRP first. Also, it's a lot less expensive and the skill of your surgeon doesn't have to be as great. On the other hand, your marionette lines will not be improved by PRP and PRP will not tighten the excess skin on your lower eyelids. If you were my patient, my recommendation would be to do the PRP first. It will improve the flatness of your checks, add fullness to the infra-orbital area, and will somewhat pull up your nasal labial folds without spending a lot of money. With quicker results and a significant amount of surgical skill, you will experience instantaneous happiness. If you choose to do the infra-orbital lift with tightening of both skin and muscle as described by Dr. Malcolm Paul, you should get better nasal labial fold obliteration but chance the problem of multiple complications and the need for a secondary surgery to get rid of the extra lower lid skin.
There are two basic ways to elevate the tip of the nose without changing the position of the bridge of the nose. One way to elevate the tip is surgically by using cartilage as an on-lay graft from the septum of the nose or the ear, by re-positioning the medial aspect of the lower lateral cartilage or by placing a graft in the columella. These techniques require a very well-trained Board Certified Plastic Surgeon. A simpler and more predictable technique is the use of hyaluronic acid fillers injected into the columella, the peri-pyriform area at the base of the nose, and a very small amount of filler injected directly into the tip of the nose. The configuration of the tip of your nose lends itself to an injectable tip graft which will give you a dip before the tip and will also give you a very aesthetic profile-pasty. Whichever technique you choose, be sure that your surgeon or your injector has a great deal of experience in these areas. Look at before and after pictures, talk to previous patients, and most of all, be sure you get a warm and fuzzy from the person you choose to give you tip-pasty projection.
Thank you for this often-asked question and the photograph of your post-surgical abdomen. There are obviously many techniques that would be helpful to you, however, if you were my patient I would use tumescent liposuction. This is a process of putting fluid under the skin to help break up the scar tissue and decrease the amount of intraoperative bleeding, which will allow quicker recovery with fewer complications. Initially, I would use a blank canula to loosen free fat cells and break up existing scar tissue. After, I would harvest and process fat from other areas and thinly distribute this fat in areas of previous dents. Post operatively I would spray the donor site and recipient bed with DMSO, which will decrease bruising, swelling, and unwanted scar tissue. I would put the patient in a girdle and apply a sheet of Reston foam directly to the girdle (non-sticky side facing the previous dented areas). This will allow for an even dissemination of the grafted fat. In conjunction with the DMSO treatments, I would also use therapeutic ultrasound to increase the number of white blood cells in this area. Increasing the white blood cells will carry away injured fat cells and other causes of dents and elevations. The irregularities of your post-surgical abdomen are not uncommon, and this treatment is done by many plastic surgeons. Now it becomes your responsibility to consult with multiple board-certified plastic surgeons. When consulting, ask to see multiple before and after pictures. Use these pictures to choose the best board-certified plastic surgeon who you feel you can work with.
