We’ve rounded up need-to-know health and beauty links from around Hollywood, so you can stay on top of all those “hard-hitting” celebrity stories. Consider this the donut-with-extra-sprinkles-on-top to go with your morning coffee. Happy dunking!
One look at a recent photo of Rob Lowe, and it’s pretty hard to believe that he’s been in the public eye since 1979. Not only does the actor look much younger than his 50 years, but we think he looks even hotter now than he did at 25! So, how does the ageless star do it? Well, we hate to break it to you, but the guy was just born that way! “I’m just a product of good genetics and taking care of myself,” the actor reveals in the July issue of Cigar Aficionado. “[That said], I’d like to think that, if I had work done — which I haven’t — I wouldn’t be coy about it.”
One star who doesn’t share Rob’s view on being candid about surgery is actress Kate Hudson. “[Asking if someone’s had plastic surgery] is like asking if they see a therapist, and why?” she explained to InStyle magazine. “The real question is: How [does someone] treat the person next to them? Are they a—holes or are they awesome?”
Goth rocker Ozzy Osbourne has done a lot of shocking things in his career, but the Prince of Darkness just can’t handle Botox. After learning that pal Simon Cowell is a fan of the procedure, the Black Sabbath frontman decided to give it a go. “I had Botox because [Simon’s] a big fan of it,” he revealed to Britain’s Event magazine. “But they stick a needle in you and it bloody hurts, so I didn’t do it again.”
Despite the fact that Laverne Cox is gorgeous and super talented, much of the media is fixated on a single aspect of her life. During a recent appearance on The Wendy Williams Show, the Orange Is the New Black star was forced to endure a steady stream of questioning about being a transgendered woman. Fans of the actress deemed the interview “ignorant” and “inappropriate,” but as usual, Laverne handled the situation with grace. When asked if she got breast implants, Laverne patiently shut the conversation down. “Off camera, I can talk to you about it. But I’ve chosen not to talk about any of the stuff I’ve gotten done. I think so often, when trans people’s experiences are talked about, we far too often focus on surgery and transition. So I don’t talk about that. But I’m very happy with the situation.”
