The Process

Patients are frequently apprehensive about the process of undergoing a procedure like hair transplantation. They are often nervous, scared and worried about what the consultation and procedure will be like. They even worry about what other patients in the waiting room will think of them when they come to their appointment. I want to put your minds at ease and go through what to expect when choosing Look Natural Hair Transplants.
The first step is to make your free consultation appointment. We see patients at one of our many offices throughout New Jersey, Manhattan and Philadelphia. You will be greeted by one of our friendly front desk receptionists and given some paperwork to fill out (sorry, it’s required!). You will then meet with one of our plastic surgeons, all of whom are board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgeons. You and the doctor will go over your goals and what is possible with the Neograft, the state-of-the-art system we use. All of your questions will be answered. You will then meet with one of our schedulers to discuss hair transplant costs and availability of dates for your procedure.
Once you have made the life-changing decision to book your hair transplant, you will meet with one of our nurses. She will go over the pre-operative instructions and give you your medication list. You will be given detailed instructions on what to do both before and after surgery. Again, the nurse will answer any questions you may have.
One the morning of the procedure you will be greeted by our staff and prepared for your procedure. We will then take ‘before’ pictures if that has not already been done. The doctor and techs will then design your new hairline and determine where all the transplants will be placed. You will be shown the design so that you can change anything if you desire. At this point, you will have the procedure.
After the procedure is completed a dressing will be placed on the donor site. The post-operative instructions will be discussed with you. Most patients are able to then drive themselves home. The first day after the procedure it is normal to feel sore. But that will subside quite quickly. Recovery takes from 1-3 days and by the time of your follow-up appointment a week or two following the procedure you will be completely healed. Then comes the most challenging part of the entire experience, the waiting! Four months after the procedure the hair will begin to grow and by nine months most of the hairs will have grown in and you are ready for the follow-up of taking the ‘after’ pictures.
As you can see the process is quite easy and relatively stress-free. The entire experience will be a revelation for its ease, and well worth the cost. Don’t let fear of the unknown delay your transplant any longer. Make you appointment for a free consultation today!
