Can a septoplasty fix upper lip asymmetry? The septum is deviated, the tip is off to the side, and the nostrils are at different heights. Therefore, the upper lip is also asymmetric, and its crooked/tilted so that the lip line is diagonal. So, will a septoplasty fix this issue, or is more needed to permanently fix the issue at hand?
An ENT performed a Septoplasty and Inferior Turbinate Reducation on me 6 days ago. My nostrils were asymmetrical pre-surgery due to a deviated septum. Now after the procedure, they are even more asymmetrical. One of the nurses called to check on me the next day and told me it was because there was more work done to one side than the other, so there is just more swelling. However, now most of my swelling has gone down and I just dont see how the nostril will just change shape.
I had a septoplasty last Thursday. I had my apparently one and ONLY post op follow up visit Monday. I was told everything looked good however my nose looks crooked to me and my nostrils look uneven. The deviation was on the right side and that nostril looks fine the left looks widened. I had splints and gel packing. I know it's only 5 days post op but I am nervous that it's permanent. Will my nostrils be even again and my nose less crooked is this normal?
Once my cast and tape were put on, one nostril apprearwd to be trapped under it, holding the nostril up at a different angle/shape. Now that the cast is off, there's little dent in the tip. It's one month post op- the tip is still pretty lifted in my opinion- will this dent and unevenness from the bandages settle out as swelling goes down?
I understand the procedure is not cosmetic but I feel like this could be an exception. My septum protrudes at the bottom of my right nostril, giving the appearance of it being much smaller than the left. Will septoplasty aid in fixing this to a degree (getting rid of the protruding septum)
I had a septorhinoplasty procedure performed on 22/07. After the operation, my septum appeared to be significantly straightened and my nostrils equal. However, while My nose is still straight, my nostrils appear to be different now and the septum is sticking out from where it had been straightened. I don't know if this always was the case but disguised by blood or whether me trying to clean my nose has ruined the result. My appointment is in 3 days with my surgeon, is there anything I should do?
I believe I have a deviated septum, as my nostrils appear to be different sizes and I find it difficult to breathe through the right one. I have been given different nasal sprays by my doctor, but they don't seem to help. My question is would a septoplasty help me to breathe better as well as make the tip of my nose look straight and my nostrils more symmetrical looking?
Ever since i could remember I've had problems breathing through my nose but lately it's becoming more bothersome.I find myself only able to breathe through one nostril and the uneven proportion of my nostrils and crooked(in my opinion) bridge of my nose unappealing and i don't know what to do.
