Preview: 32A to a 32DD, Natrelle 300cc (either high or ultra high profile) silicone implants. The cost above was my TOTAL cost, including medications and new bras, etc. I spent about $500 on new bras and clothes, and $120 on medication.

I always felt I had small breasts. In high school I wore a 32C. After I had my son, I dropped down to a 32A, and barely filled out the cups in my bras. I decided to get a BA shortly before my son turned 3. The original cost was about $5100, including surgeon's fees, anesthesia and facility fees. Pain meds and antibiotics ran around $40. I was extremely swollen and in pain for a little less than two weeks. The healing process started going much more smoothly until...

3 weeks post-op, I tore my internal stitches. (Note to other moms... get LOTS of help with little ones!) I reached out to grab my son's arm when he tried to run towards a parking lot, and felt a sharp *pop*. I immediately went back to my doctor's office, and he said to take it very easy and we would hope that I hadn't done too much damage.

Well, over the course of the next week, my incision site on my right breast became very red and itchy. I was started on another round of antibiotics, and given a sling for my right arm to discourage use. After another week, my incision opened up and exposed my right implant. Though I didn't feel any pain from this, it wasn't a pretty sight and sure scared the heck out of my boyfriend!
I returned to my doctor, and they removed my right implant. The PA did a really terrible job with my staples (see photos), and it took 4 months for the incision site to close up fully. I was started on another round of antibiotics.

After the incision closed, it was another few weeks before they would put another implant in. I had another surgery January 26, 2014 to replace the right implant. I am currently still healing, but I have been taking it very easy, and so far everything looks good. The second time around the healing was much easier. I felt little to no pain after only 3 days. I have been back to normal activities since 5 days post-op, but have been very cautious when using my right side. The only discomfort I feel is when I bend at 90 degrees and my right breast hangs down. It's just a strange feeling.

As for the left breast, the healing has gone very well, and it has now softened up and looks very natural. I'm hoping to achieve the same results with the right side! Though I've had complications, I would definitely do it again. My BA has greatly improved my self confidence. I love my new breasts, and plan on having them redone when the time comes. That being said, the total cost was much more than I expected. What did I learn? Don't "expect" anything! Anything can happen, and those considering a BA should be prepared to spend more money than quoted for the initial cost. I've had to revamp some of my wardrobe as well, including clothing and new bras. BUT.... I love em!! Totally worth it!

I really like my surgeon. He is a pretty quiet guy, but very professional. He explained everything thoroughly, including the risks. He waived his fees for the re-do, but I still owed facility, new implant, and anesthesia ($2900). I would go back to Dr. Ljung because I'm loving my results, and his office staff are very friendly. I especially like Mandy Pringle, one of the nurses at his office. She is very knowledgeable about after-care procedures.
