Improving the quality of my life...
I've been on this forum for about a week now and have received a lot of encouraging words and support. Many are days or weeks away from their surgery date. Some are post op and sharing the experience of weight falling off...side effect...emotions and the list goes on. I'm still in the process of going through the procedures to finally get a surgery date. So to make this really real to me and not turn back I decided to share a few pictures...It was hard to do and Im a little embarassed but I guess that is what this is all about...This is what it can look like at 293lbs, 58 years old and only 5"1'...whew!!!!

I'm in the process of going through the routine procedures before surgery is scheduled. I'm currently 291.5 and 5"1'...58 years old. I've been morbid obese for the past 20 years. Needless to say I have HBP, Cholestrol, Osteoarthritis, Sleep Apena, depression and very low self esteem. About three years ago all of the above
really got the best of me and I became very ill....and eventually disabled. Through a lot of prayer, talks with God and social security benefits I am feeling much better and now have the opportunity to have weight loss surgery. Tenatively I know I will have surgery before the end of the year. Tonight I will complete my sleep study. And I have started my psychological stuff. Not having much support from family or friend right now. Most are dead set against the surgery...And then I'm getting the "keep me updated" statement. Hubby doesnt have much to say besides....We will see...sounds good so far. So I feel I'm kinda on my own here. Hoping I find a great support group as well as a few friends on this forum. Trying to read as much as I can about every aspect of the procedure...beginning and end....and all of that in the middle...lolo. Please feel free to comment or email me about your experience and thoughts...Hope to hear from someone soon...lolol
