Week 2 complete.

After the second week is complete I am still in a lot of pain. I did go back to work and after six hours I was having stabbing pains in my upper abdomen and my scar is very itchy and Burny

I'm a week into recovery from a full Tummy Tuck...

I'm a week into recovery from a full Tummy Tuck and flank lipo. I don't feel that good. The first night in the hospital was a living hell mainly due to what I believe was the morphine causing me to vomit. It hadn't occurred to me that I could have requested a different medication. coming home the second night in the third night were the second and third worst nights ever. The dressings and the compression garment had moved up my torso and compressed my rib cage so I was barely able to get a deep breath In. I was afraid to touch any of the dressings. The pain medication was making me sick. I don't do drugs very well I guess. from that second night up in till the fifth night I was taking the Percocets and I have no idea what the relation is but I was breaking out into fevers and drenched my clothes and all of the dressings. It was positively gross. I ended up having to remove the garment and wipe myself down where I could. The doctor gave strict instructions to not touch the dressings but there was no way I could've left them like that. My first piece of advice is unless you have a totally supportive husband who will wait on you hand and foot and children who are at least the age of four do not even consider doing this. The most important thing for me was putting the pillows below my legs and back to elevate me. In hindsight I should've bought the sleep number adjustable bed prior to the surgery. So tomorrow will be one full week and I'm hoping I can get my drains out on Friday. One thing I noticed is that when I get up and I go for a little walk within a few minutes after that is when I start getting the chills really bad. And sorry to be gross but it usually requires a bathroom run. I do not believe I have a flu because it only happens to my body after some activity. The activity is very light. I'm not taking any pain medication now except for some extra strength Tylenol.
