Getting better every day
I seem to be a bit bulkier on the right flank as compared to the left. I am hoping that this is swelling. It is early days yet. I will mention it at my next follow up.
I am still tender when I lay in bed, but I don't require anything to help me sleep anymore. So happy that everything went as planned this go around!
17 days Post Op
I tried on my skimpiest pair of underwear today. I can pretty much hide the entire scar with a bit of strategic positioning. That is great seeing it runs almost all the way around my back. I had a follow up with my surgeon this week. He seemed to be as happy as I was at how this is all turning out. I never set out to be a super model. I just wanted the excess gone! I was trying to be very realistic with the outcome since thinking about getting this done. The actual outcome has exceeded anything I had hoped for!
Direct Excision of dog ears and posterior flank liposuction March 29th, 2016
My incision had to be extended quite a bit. It now runs almost all the way around. I had 388 gm of tissue removed from one flank, 385 gm from the other. That actually works out to be 1.7 lbs of tissue. I also had 650 cc of lipo done as well.
I felt like I had been hit by a truck the first night and the next day. I was popping dilaudid like it was candy, and it was not doing a whole lot. I finally got permission to use an anti inflammatory, and it was MAGIC. The pain went from about an 8/10 down to 4/10 in a couple of hours. It has not been terrible since. I also had crazy insomnia. I went 30 hours after surgery without sleep. I have had this issue before, and I am not sure what causes it to happen, but it is torture. You are exhausted, having pain, and you are completely running on empty. As with all things, this too passed. I have slept fair the past two nights, but I will take some over none!
I have said it before, and I will say it again. I am really, really glad that I picked Dr. Lennox as my surgeon. He has been great since the get go. I am a happy girl!
Provider Review
My inital consultation went WAY better than I was expecting. I was very nervous, but quickly relaxed after Dr. Lennox came into the room. He explained everything thoroughly up to and including all possible complications. His assistant Toni is wonderful, and has been very patient with me since my consultation. She has promptly answered every question I have asked via email since my consultation, and there have been quite a few. The experience up to this point has been an extremely positive one. I feel VERY confident in my decision to go with Dr. Lennox. I have to add that after I had to cancel the first date, and have tentatively booked a few times. Dr. Lennox's office has been AMAZING! They have not lost patience with me, and have been extremely helpful and accommodating. I have NO doubt that I have made the right decision!
