I recently (1 month ago) had vaser liposuction on my stomach and back. While there are lumps bumps (only on my stomach) I am REASONABLY convinced reading other people's posts that these will go away.
However, at the point of surgery the Dr also talked me into having lipo on my face. I wasn't planning this and was uncertain but he convinced me I should do it as it was a significant saving to do it then and there. I do not think he actually used vaser on my face as I didn't hear the ultrasound and he didn't point it out to me as he did with the lipo elsewhere.
The fat was taken from below my jaw and also from above the jaw but below the lipline. At first, once the bruising was gone I was really pleased but now at a month on I can feel lots of small sphere like lumps under the skin (particularly above the jaw) the area is still tender, and most worryingly now if I smile broadly I have three linear indentations appearing on my right cheeck, which stretch downwards. The indentations are particularly emphasized by the fact that the skin is pulled and the skin goes pale over the ridges between the indentations. I am very concerned that these will not go away. I can't afford to have a revision surgery but have just purchased the slendertone face (the clinical trials seem to suggest genuine results with this machine). I am hoping that tightening up the facial muscles might help but I am worried and I feel older and more unnattractive than I did before I started, which is unfortunate because I looked pretty good for my age (40) before that.
My treatment experience was mixed. The Dr was very friendly and attentive before surgery. However, I did feel pressured over the facial surgery and nothing about my mental well being and very little about recovery was discussed.
The surgery itself was excrutiating and exhausting. I had asked about a sedative but the Dr had advised against it, chiefly I think because of time. He had also advised me that as I was having 5-6 areas done at the same time (plus in the end the face) that I could not have as much lidocaine in each area. I thought I had a reasonably high pain threshold but this was the most painful experience I've ever had. I have never cried from pain before and I was shaking and sobbing at regular intervals, causing him to have to pause frequently. This wasn't made better by him commenting that pain was very subjective. This just made me feel pathetic. Although to be fair I don't think that's what he meant to do. The whole set thing took about 3 hour 15 mins and that's a long time to be in so much pain.
That said my recovery (with the exception of my face) has been rapid and within a few days I was comfortable apart from not being able to bend properly.
Will these facial lumps and indentations go away?Great review?
My Doctor: name not provided
I don't feel he took enough time to discuss the post-operative effects and was too pushy over my face
