So I'm now almost 72 hours post op, and for anyone considering BA, one thing you will never be truly prepared for is the bloating and water retention. I actually think this is worse than the initial pain from the BA. It is so uncomfortable, and with the bandages being so tight, you feel so restricted! I was caught between being hungry and being so bloated I was scared to eat for the first 2 days. One word of advice, DRINK A LOT OF WATER!! I'm talking litres! I have been drinking 4+ litres a day, plus peppermint tea and dandelion tea (these are your best friends!) and a mug of Senna & Fennel tea each night (to help 'it' all move smoothly the next morning). - Gross I know! I have really found that these have helped. The pain isn't too awful, I'm getting sharp twinges every now and again but they are bearable. The worst pain for me has to be from where one of the drains were. One got stuck when the nurse tried to pull them out, it was AGONY!!! This is what hurts the most. I was prescribed antibiotics and cocodamol post surgery. I've read a lot online that narcotic painkillers can make constipation and bloating worse, and we all know how much anti-b's can mess your system up. So for this reason I'm trying to take cocodamol as little as possible, using paracetamol & arnica pills instead and using ice packs as often as possible.I guess I'm lucky, as I have my other half attending to my every need. He has really been amazing, taking the same week off work. But I feel so bad having to ask him to do everything for me - I'm so used to being the one that does everything! I get my bandages off on Saturday 5th Sept, and absolutely cannot wait!! We're both counting down each day.I can't wait to share my progress pictures on here, as I really found the BA reviews a massive help pre-op!Ray xoxo

So after months of planning today is finally the big day!! I'm still waiting for the nerves to kick in, but I'm so tired and hungry all I can think about is how much my head hurts. I check in at the clinic at 10am, but have no idea what time my surgery will be, anything up to six hours after checking in... :( I'm just looking forward to waking up with my new boobies... Is it normal to feel so not nervous about it?

All interactions with Dr Frati were great, it's true that he's not a great talker, but at my pre-op appointment he answered all our questions and seemed honest. That was enough for us. After all, we wanted a surgeon that was going to give me great boobs, not want to know my life story! Then on the big day, there were some serious delays. My admission time was 10, but didn't go into theatre until 14:30. I'm sure for some people that would be fine, but I drink A LOT of water on a daily basis. I was nil by mouth so by 13:00, I was about ready to pass out - I could barely walk or keep my eyes open. :( But Mr Frati was apologetic and reassuring, and made us feel much better pre-surgery.
