While researching before and after pictures prior to deciding on a surgeon, I had a really difficult time finding images with a similar body type to mine. I am a former fitness model and after my first pregnancy gained 50lbs and stretch marks. The second pregnancy was a weight gain of 35 lbs. I have since lost the weight and my body looks even better than it did before the kids- I have a six pack that I worked really hard for and cannot show off :( I am having my surgery on 2/13/12 in the NYC area and will post before and after pics for reference. I have had breast augmentation (before pregnancy), so if anyone has questions about that I am available to answer:) Stats: 5'5", 130 lbs. measurements: 32, 25, 34

Its day 4 post op and I am finally able to walk on my own! I went to the Dr. today and he did not remove the drains because there is still lots of fluid coming out- maybe tomorrow if there is less than 30cc in fluid, if no monday :/
So far each day is getting better. I cannot wait to hug and squeeze my kids!
I have attached a new photo, but I did not remove the bandage.

It has been a while since I last posted pictures, but here are some more pictures- I am almost 3 months post op.

I started looking for a plastic surgeon to perform my tummy tuck after having my first child five years ago. I live in an area of Long Island where there are plastic surgery centers on every block, but I chose to use Dr. Fiorillo who is located in Rockland County NY. I was looking for a doctor who completely understood the fit look that I was going for. His work is amazing and I am loving my new look!! My scar is razor thin and low enough to wear a bikini! I highly recommend him!

Looks good. :) Are you still thrilled with your results?
do you ever have pain when exercising in your abs or incision site?

Yay! So happy for you! Which doctor did you choose?
The swelling should be gone by the summer after your surgery. I am still a little swollen 4 months later, but I'm still going to wear a bikini this summer :)
My doctor gave me the ok to start ab training about 6 weeks after surgery, but I didn't feel ready so I waited another 2 weeks and then started. I increased my intensity around 10 weeks later and I am pretty much back to normal at this point (4 months). Good luck with your surgery!

Thanks :) I'm going with Dr. Epstein in Stony Brook since he seems so nice. I live about 30 min away from there so he's pretty close. I hope my results are as nice as yours. I am sooo nervous lol

Thanks for the updates! I finally scheduled my surgery. It's not til October, but I'm fine with that. Hopefully all my major swelling will be gone by next summer. Lol. Im having an extended tummy tuck to get rid of all the hanging skin on my flanks and to fix my diastasis.
I'm so scared I wont be able to do ab work for a really long time afterward. When did you start again? Did it cause lots of swelling? Did you stop whenif it started to swell or did you keep going?

You really look great! I am a figure competitor and even though I have abs I always had to deal with the hanging skin! I'm still afraid of the scar. I know I won't I won't be able to hide it in my competition suit but anything is better than what I have now! I'm planning on getting a TT next year. I just had a BL/BA in April 3. How soon could you go back to working out?

Thank you! I also plan on competing in the near future! My doctors wife is a fitness competitor, so he knew exactly the look that I was going for, where to place the scar etc. I started light cardio about 4 or 5 weeks after surgery and at around 6 weeks went back to the gym for weights (very light at first and worked my way back up again) Around 8 weeks after, I started abs (even though my doctor gave me the ok to start sooner). How are you feeling after your surgery? Are you happy with the results?

I'm feeling good. My breasts are still sore a little. When I'm reaching I can still feel some pain. I am happy with the results, just going back in Aug to get my areolas raised a bit. When do you think you will start competing?

Thank you! It is so low- it is totally covered with underwear(without having to pull them way up high lol)- I'm so glad I used Dr. Fiorillo

Wow..you look great and your scar is in the perfect spot!

Thank you! I feel great! I am sooo happy with the results! I've been back at the gym for over a month. I trained very light at first, but now I am pretty much back to normal. Ab training gets easier each time- still cannot do hanging leg raises. I can't wait for my abs to "pop" lol!

Did you have your surgery yet?

Wow the new pics loom great! I hope i look as fmgood as you do when i have my tt. Have you been able to exercise yet? Or does it still hurt too much?
Looking forward to your updates! Thanks so much!

How do you feel? Hope you are feeling well :)

How is it going? Havent heard any updates in a while and I'm starting to get nervous. Lol
Hope you are healing well...
I can't wait to see how it looks so far, and hear about your experience. Have you been able to exercise at all yet?
That is my biggest worry for when I get mine done.
Hope all is well

Btw
i cant believe you needed to have the muscles repaired. Your abs look totally diastasis/hernia-free in the before pictures. Lucky!
I have abs too but you can see a funny sunken-in hole where the gap is. :(
(Unless i flex them, then it sort of disappears)
Hope your healing well.

I wish I could get mine soon too :(
Glad to hear you are healing ok and you dont look too swollen.
Did you get any muscles repaired or just the skin removed?

Keep us updated! I cant wait to see how it looks when the swelling is gone :)
mintymom 27 Feb 2012
Hey Arik, I did get my muscles repaired. I will update some pictures soon- I've been taking pictures every day of my progress, but have not posted here.
When is your surgery?
arik 27 Feb 2012
Cool.
I probably have to wait another year or so :( I'm scheduling consults with local doctors soon though.
My youngest child is 7 months and since I'm the primary catetaker, it would be so impossible during recovery lol. I'm hoping eventually my little one will sleep thru the night so I can convince my husband and mom to take off work for a few weeks while I'm healing. (Will be easiee on them if they dont have to wake up every few hours).
Im really looking forward to your updates since your bodytype is so close to mine. Happy healing!
Bejewelme 21 Feb 2012
No I go on 3/2 really ready now, I just want to get it on and over with!
mintymom 27 Feb 2012
Good luck! Surgery day is almost here! I'm excited for you :)
mintymom 21 Feb 2012
Aww Thank you for the reassurance Bejewelme :) I can't wait to be completely healed! Have you had your surgery yet?
