I am 52 and have never had much of a chin but due to weight gain I had like 3 chin and it wasn't pretty. I had the lift and my lower eyes done.

I had one issue where my ear was not healing properly and had to go to the ER for more stitches. It was not a cake walk and the recovery time for me was longer than normal. I did not have any pain but just looked like someone beat the heck out of me. I highly recommend it.

Hi,I'm wondering when you had it done and your age -if you don't mind my asking. You look so young before ! :)
Lisa D 1 Apr 2011
I had it done in Nov 2010 and I was 51 years old. Love it!
McKen58 31 Jul 2011
Your before picture has much of your jaw line covered....you look exactly the same in the after. Do you have a better before pic?
god help us 5 Apr 2011
Hi I notice that your before picture you have your jacket is up on your face. Do you mind posting a picture of your ear show what your scar looks like by your ear. Thank you
2trusting 7 Apr 2011
That was going to be my question exactly. What about pictures of before and after no makeup hair pulled back, you know, like at the place you had it done. THEIR before and after pictures. It would be so helpful for us to see them, Lisa D, and we could be happy for you too. And Lisa, if you could loose the glasses and not be smiling in the new pictures you post for us, then we might believe you. See they were indited in New York for having employees post false positive reviews to the tune of $300,000. So ecstatic reports of no pain sound exagerated, see. $8,000 is a lot of money to spend to end up looking exactly the same as you did before. So more pictures please.

She never posted back.... another fake positive review for LSL. I'm emailing this to the Attorney Generals office and we'll let them figure it out. They think they're so slick. Their advertisements sicken us.
Lisa D 21 Jun 2011
Folks, I did not write a "fake" positive review. I just happen to be busy. I love my lift and there is no fake or slick anything going on here.

Lisa.....in the time it took to comment, you could have posted another pic of yourself...yes? You certainly must have more pics than just one, which covers your jaw and face...hmmm....

Let's give Lisa the benefit of the doubt here. She was nice enough to post pictures in the first place. Also, behind the scenes, we vet reviews pretty well for spam.

I realize that some of you have had bad experiences with Lifestyle Lift, but that isn't the case for everyone. A bit of skepticism is healthy anywhere in life, but there's no reason to attack Lisa for her experience. That's not what RealSelf is about.

2trusting 2 Aug 2011
Dear Sharon,
In my view Lisa has not been, how you say, "attacked". She has been asked to show pictures that really show something. Otherwise why post any pictures at all, don't you agree? Her pictures show nothing and I don't see how that is beneficial to the community. If a negative post carried photos like that, don't you think it would be attacked? I understand that in the game of Russian Roulet that they play, some are lucky enough not to get a bullet in the chamber. On the CBS News 46 Atlanta, LSL couldn't even get one happy woman to interview except in shadows. Excessively drab before photos, and then after photos in full hair and makeup are posted all the time for positive reviews. And the unhappy ones get demeaned for being poor healers, unrealistic, depressed, called idiots, thank you for deleating that one by the way. The people that question Lisa have valid reasons, I feel, for wanting to see a picture of her without the turtle neck. Otherwise why post pictures at all. There's no law saying you have to post pictures. But if you're going to, they should show something. I'm not the only one who feels this way. We thank you all so much for this forum and appreciate you for all the time and effort all of you put in to standing for the right for freedome of speech and the American way.

Best Regards,

OOOOPS, my finger slipped on the word FREEDOM. Didn't mean to misspell that wonderful word.
Sharon at RealSelf (Community Manager) 3 Aug 2011

Hi 2trusting,

Thanks for your reply.

Being called a "fake" is what I meant by personal attacks. I think that's a bit harsh for anyone. It takes guts to put your story and photos out there, and then to have it called fake? That would send me running! :)

We have the same standards for the comments directed at unhappy LSL patients; we remove everything we see that violates our guidelines, but if we've missed anything please send it to me. Nobody deserves to have their personal experience called into question, whether they've been called an idiot or, in Lisa's case, a fake.

I don't know if her photos are beneficial to the community. She looks good, but we have no idea what she looked like before (and I mean that nicely, Lisa ;). But I don't think her review would look more real without photos, and she did post them, so ??. As long as we give her the benefit of the doubt and don't immediately assume she's fake because her photos aren't clinical before and after shots, that's all I'm asking.

Thanks again for your comments!

Dear Sharon I think that this web site is a little maybe a lot on the side of a handful of complainers these people have said terrible things to people and you allow it.
This person 2 trusting who has no pictures no proof but critisises every positive post is allowed to say awful things and you delete my one comment about her.
I think you need to take her off or make her show proof of surgery gone wrong before she calls every positive person on here a liar.
She just runs everyone off with her nastiness so all you have left is unhappy people no wonder the ratings look so bad.

Deb....the site isn't on the side of a "handful of complainers" as you state. I disagree 100%. This site is for HUNDREDS of women, who, over the years, have prevented other sisters from making the same disastrous mistake. There have been two women who have DIED as a DIRECT RESULT from their LSL. There are women on this page; dozens and dozens and dozens, who are maimed for LIFE as a result of slick marketing and lies that are the standard protocol for LSL employees and their "surgeons." No, it's not a page for a few complainers. It's for "Sisters of the LSL Hood" who care enough about others that they don't want them to go through the pain and torture that this "crap shoot" of a company perpetrates on victims every single day in this country and GETS AWAY WITH IT:(
DEB 10 9 Aug 2011
You are commenting on her pictures where are yours lets see your nightmare.
I am going today for my 6 week check up and it gets better everyday and nobody ever told me there would only be little scars in front of my ears.
Sometimes I think we are so excited to get plastic surgery that we dont listen to all that is important just want to know how great we are going to look afterwards.
People die all the time from plastic surgery it is surgery and some people are not healthy enough to have it but take risks to look beautiful.
Also everyone who has surgery does not do what they are suppose to before and after to get good results like stop smoking drinking get lots of rest drink plenty of water to keep skin hydrated to help healing. All these things were told to me in great detail and I took them seriously.
You would not want them to talk gloom and doom to you but you see the news and hear horror stories about surgery all the time so why are you surprised that a company that has done over 100,000 facelifts would have 2 deaths sounds like good odds to me.
Most people that have face lifts are older to start with so that already is a risk.
I am just saying if everyone had such a bad result lets see it I dont see very many pictures of bad results just scars behind ears some people scar badly and that can not be helped by the best surgeon in the world.
If you go on the face lift site there are the same complaints about scaring and numbness etc.
They just cut your face off what do you expect to feel perfect in a week?
DEB 10 9 Aug 2011
People are not maimed by slick marketing they are maimed by bad surgeons are you complaining about advertising or surgery all I keep hearing about is their marketing . I think this is just a ploy to get money from the deep pockets why not sue the dr if your face is so bad their marketing skills did not do that.
Let us see your bad face lift.
Someone got in touch with me who is doing an article for health south florida and he says nobody is sueing the drs just the company that sounds a little fishy to me. If my face was screwed up I would want the dr to pay not some ad campain.
McKen58 9 Aug 2011
Deb...you are SO off the mark, that I don't know where to begin, except to say that I won't waste much time explaining. I was WIDE AWAKE the entire first hour of a 3.5 hour LSL! I could feel the pain and they couldn't give me more meds. Trust me,if any of us could SUE, we would and some are. Problem is...WE SIGNED A RELEASE. A release that was given to every women I've ever spoken to...moments before the surgery. RISKS WERE GLOSSED OVER. I spoke to my surgeon when I called to cancel and he told me the online blogs were competitors trying to take their business.

The lawyer we DO have retained knows about how these Drs are trained....and the slick marketing. Did your doctor explain that he would cut around your ears to the back...that the lobes would be cut? Did he explain that you would be receiving more than a "few" injections to numb you? Did your doctor explain that your LSL would take MORE than an hour? If so, he wasn't following THEIR SCRIPT.

I have seen REAL plastic surgeons since...with their own practice. ASK THEM what they think of LSL. They will tell you that they routinely get recruitment letters from LSL looking for docs who want to make "incredible pt money."

Just the fact that you have said that they have done 100,000 face lifts shows me the direction you have sailed. Who EVER said they have done 100,000? Only LSL themselves, but have never once PROVEN IT. And it's not supposed to be a FACELIFT...it's a revolutionary, Lifestyle lift. However, it IS a full face lift...while you are wide awake and feeling every moment.

Case closed. At least on my part it is. Keep drinking.
DEB 10 9 Aug 2011
Lots of Plastic Surgeons do face lifts without putting you to sleep but only lately because of the compitition from lifestyle lift. drs always want you to be asleep because it is easier for them and it keeps you quiet I have had 2 knee surgerys awake and said I would never go to sleep again if I did not have to the worst part of recovery is the anethesia i have asthma and dont do well with it so probably would have never had a lift if it wasnt for them advertising no general anethesia.
Got my after pictures today so much for doctoring they did nothing to my pics and my own look better than theirs.
It is ok to say want you think is the truth but dont run us happy people down I am sure when you had it done if you did you were hoping for a great result.
I am happy anyone wants to visit me at work or home email me privatly and I will give you my address that is the only way you will believe me I think my pictures speak for themselves but oh well if you want to pick on someone I guess Ime it if it makes you happy then carry on.
Stay posted for picture of ears than I want to see yours.
Leslea 2 Sep 2011
Oh Deb - please don't give anyone your address. You never know who might come knocking. Reasonable people will be able to sort through the truth, hype and lies. You look beautiful. It is so sad that some got bad results. Like you said though, that's the surgeon, not the company. And you can never reason with a bitter person :(

Check out the individual doctor who is working on you before having any kind of surgery. That's just common sense.
2trusting 2 Sep 2011
So I thought LSL was supposed to have SERIOUSLY vetted all the drs who work for them. Isn't that part of their fallacious gushing promotionals? They, the Lenzcrafters of plastic surgery are in hot water, and their director of medical affairs is long gone.
How many legitimate businesses that you know of are being investigated by the Attorney Generals? That ain't no lie OR hype! Your right, for heavens sake, Deb don't give your address out over this site! That's not smart to do over the internet. It's better to go through the "leave a private message". I'm so glad you are happy, but I wear my hair up a lot and I couldn't put up with those scars you ended up with. My mother-in-law got a face lift from a plastic surgeon years ago and you could hardly see her scars. She was in her 60's when she got it done.
This whole thing with people saying "oh your skin must have been too thin, you must be a poor healer, you this you that, bitter etc. get a grip. Do not put us down when you have not walked in our shoes! If we were any of those things, then LSL should not have told us we were perfect candidates for the job! Many people have gone back in for 2nd and 3rd re-dos to fix the botched jobs, and they have suffered all the more for continueing to try to get help from the ones that gave them the damage in the first place, being refered to other LSL surgeons to "fix" them.

IF YOU CANNOT BELIEVE THAT LSL COMPLETELY CHECKS OUT ALL THEIR DRS AND TRAINS THEM...LIKE THEY SAY THEY DO, AS FAR AS I'M CONCERNED YOU'RE NOT ABLE TO BELIEVE ANY THING ELSE THEY SAY. THE CONSULTANTS ARE SALES PEOPLE AND THE DRS ARE NOT VETTED BY LSL, ANYONE CAN CONTRACT WITH THEM, AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR THE RESULTS. WHAT KIND OF REPUTABLE PLACE OPERATES LIKE THAT? NOT ONE THAT I KNOW OF !

So, "that's just common sense", Drs records are hidden deep within State Files and the secrets they carry there are not all that easy to access esp for a generation which is not necessarily up to all the computer savy things you have to know to get there.

According to LSL using them is supposed to put you right in there with "the very best" Soooooo, I guess they just don't have good judgement, right ???????
DEB 10 5 Sep 2011
I only had surgery 8 weeks ago and my scars are almost gone there is none in front and behind one ear is almost gone and the other one is just pink in a couple of months I am sure I could wear my hair up.
I have a lot of friends who have had face lifts and they all were cut behind ears there is no other way to get a good result but many of them wear their hair up and if you look really close you can see faint scars but the only reason people look that close is because they want to know why someone that old looks that good . I will take faint scars over a turkey neck anyday I have to look so close to see my scars now that if they did not get better I would not complain but I know they are still healing.
JoyceMarie813 5 Sep 2011
-I also had the 'Lifestyle Lift". It was horrifying!!! Was left with a two inch long 'flap' of skin that was caused by the excessive lipo,..but it hung down underneath my neck on one side.
I then had a second-because they would not refund my money so that I could see a BETTER/REAL Dr. for the much needed revision.Now..I am talking out of the right side of my mouth, because they pulled the left side much tighter than the right,..and am left with a huge lump/Keloid scar in front of my right ear with my ears crooked, one bent forward and completely different, and not even at the same height. My glasses wont even sit straight,so I just do without.
...All that money, two years of pain and healing..and am left looking like a freak.
Now the Company is being sued-AGAIN! and all FOUR had the same Dr.that I had.
So glad that you had such a delightful experience, but REGARDLESS-IT WILL LOOK THE SAME IN A FEW MONTHS.
DEB 10 5 Sep 2011
Sorry for your bad experience it really sucks because it is such a hard decision to have surgery in the first place and all the expectations that go along with it.
I would have been horrified if it would have turned out bad believe me I thought about it alot before surgery I even told my friends if it turns out bad please just dont say anything I will aready feel bad enough . I was lucky had a great surgeon and it will not look the same it a few months it will look even better then I see improvments all the time and do feel blessed and wish everyone could have the same results .
