After years of contemplating rhinoplasty, I did my research and Dr Asaria was the first surgeon I booked for a consultation. Having read his write-ups, seen his work and interviews, I was very excited to meet him.I went in on January 20, filled out some forms and waited about 10 minutes. I went into the room and after about 5 minutes, Dr Asaria came in. We chatted about other people in my industry going to him to have work done and then I explained what I was hoping to correct with my eyelids and my nose.I am Asian and the lids of my eyes are asymmetrical. My right eye is
double-lid, while my left eye leans more toward a mono-lid. I also would
like what they call, the "alar flare" of my nose to be reduced which
has always made me self-conscious of smiling.Dr Asaria seemed to know right away what I wanted and explained what he
would do. I wanted to ask about scarring because I tend to scar very
easily and he told me that his colleague would be able to answer any
questions I have. He put his stuff together, told me he would prepare a
quote and that this other person would bring it in and answer my
questions.Once I got home, and processed the consultation, I realized I had a couple more questions. I wanted to know where the bone would be grafted from (my rib or my ear) for the rhinoplasty, whether it would be possible to perform digital imaging to make sure we're both on the same page along with a couple of other questions related to swelling and healing. So I sent an email --I waited a week and never received a response so I called the office. I think I was passed on to Alexandria who was able to answer some of the questions, but couldn't answer whether it would be an open or closed rhinoplasty, where the bone would be grafted from etc.. so, she offered to book a second appointment, but it would only be in April. (!!)In short, I was overall so disappointed with meeting him. As per the reviews on this site, I thought he would be open to answering questions either in person or by email, but in my experience he was not available for either. In fact, he was very dismissive, like I automatically fell into a generic rhinoplasty operation mold, if that makes sense? In any case, I just thought I'd share my experience so that you know, not all encounters with Dr Asaria are glowingly positive.
