Overdue Update- 5 wks post-op

So I am now 5 weeks post-op and I can say how surprised I am how quickly recovery has been.
I was only on pain meds for 4 days and went back to work on the 4th day. I was driving by a week.
Every week the improvements are noticeable and I will post some more pics but from another device. Initially it was like my boobs were sitting high and in my pits. I went with more side boob than in your face cleavage! One breast has been descending and softening a bit slower but normal I am sure. I am getting use the size and feel especially now that I am getting my feeling back. Nipples have pins & needles sensation. For a while they just felt alien, and numb. But its a process and never worries about it. Recovery is about patience and can only imagine how they will look in another 2 months.
I have always been a belly sleeper so that is the one thing that has taken some time getting use to.

Definitely Torpedo's

The best thing I kept from being pregnant was my body pillow. This has been the best thing for keeping me comfortable sleeping. Sleeping propped up and my body pillow starts behind my back and right around my belly so my arms are laying overtop ... Helps with supporting them and reducing the achy sensation. I have to admit overall I've been sleeping pretty decent.

Had a shower yesterday morning and wow felt like a new woman. The pictures are taken post shower.
Overall I am feeling pretty good. I went out shopping for new shoes for me wee one with my mom. Fresh air was good.
Today I've been really tired and still have not had a bowel movement. Sorry for TMI
TOMORROW I am planning on returning to work. So we will see how we do.
I am finding that each day my implants are feeling a bit softer rather than boulders. And well first thing in the morning they are achy and hard as well
Hope this helps some of you ladies about to embark on this endeavour or for those that are currently going through ... It's great having the support
Cheers ladies

Day of Procedure

My appointment was for 830am. It's an hour n half drive but in Toronto traffic ...so left the house at 6am with my mom and my wing man. Good thing too cuz we walked in at 8:23am. Surprisingly calm I sat and waited for the nurse to come and get me.
Shortly thereafter Said my goodbyes and was taken by Alana (hopefully right spelling , she had an east European accent) she took me to the change room. Gave me a paper thong, gown, feet covers, hair cap, and robe. Once changed she took me on a tour and then went through my medical
History, took my blood pressure, verified I've fasted and confirmed the procedure 450cc's silicone, under muscle, crease incision.
Then Dr. Quinton came in full of humour and putting me at ease. He brought in 3 implants jokingly asked him where the 3rd one would go??? He reassured he always has an extra just incase.
He went over everything again, then the anesthetist went over all my details. They were very thorough. It was a relaxed environment and made me feel comfortable. Even when I climbed up on the bed which was nice and warm then laid arm out where anesthetist didn't hurt me putting in the IV in my hand. Then they gave me some oxygen and it was goodnight Irine!!

I woke up and was in and out of it for most of the day. Didn't even recall seeing let alone talking to my consultant Jennifer.
I had reduced Mobility and needed help Dressing .... Heck my mom had to pull my pants down to help me to pee that full first day.
What I was most surprised about was how achy my arms were post surgery. Yes my skin and chest felt tight and heavy but my arms felt like restless leg syndrome but in my arms.
I was given antibiotics, oxycodone for pain then 48hrs I can start ibuprofen. He also gave an optional nausea med which maybe I should have gotten filled but didn't. It only lasted that first day.

I know ppl who had this surgery with Dr. Quinton Chivers and we're happy with the results so felt good about checking him out. He's quite young very personable and knowledgeable. Dr. Chivers has a great sense of humour and an ability to make you feel at ease and confident in him. Even on follow-up appointments when discussing something that would normally be awkward it is so normal and natural and this is due to his approach and professionalism. The staff are very hospitable and go out of their way to get the answers to your questions. As you can imagine with most physicians that are operating there are delays, so had to wait a long while for my initial consult and one of my follow-ups however the one appointment they did make an attempt to call me and inform me. I would highly recommend him to others.
