No regrets......not one

This has been the best thing I have ever done for myself....hands down. I'm almost 50 pounds down from my original starting weight of 238......what an amazing feeling to be 191 now. All of that in 3 months! I feel so much better. There have been 2 stalls in weight, but I'm so glad I kept a journal from day one with my measurements, because even if the scale stalls, the inches show otherwise. I have lost over 2 1/2 inches in each thigh already! It's amazing to see how the fat is melting off.

I love getting rid of my 'big' clothing and knowing that when I go shopping I can now go into ALL stores...it's such a relief. Losing this weight has brought 'me' back. It's shot me into a place of taking care of myself...not just physically, but emotionally and mentally. I'm ready and welcoming these big changes in my life. Excited to see what the next 3 months are going to bring!!

I will post pics of before and after soon. If you are nervous about the surgery...don't be. You are going to thank yourself over and over for doing this!

Sleeved!

I was sleeved yesterday! The doctors, nurses and staff at the OCC are so wonderful. I slept most of yesterday away, but finally had enough energy in the evening to walk a bit. The gas has not been bad at all....bring those Gas X strips!! I was having one as often as I could to keep the gas at bay and i think it worked wonders. My heating pad was my other great companion! Highly recommend those two things.

I woke up this morning and felt fine and they discharged me. I'm sore, which I expected to be, but otherwise I'm surprised at how well I'm already functioning. I'm trying to just lay low and relax as my body has undergone a big procedure, but all in all, I feel good. It's a relief!

The hotel is gorgeous and they treat you like royalty here. Great people all around and Tijuana is not scary at all. I feel very safe here.

The best news i received is that by this time next year i should be 155 pounds!!! Eekkkk....so exciting! As a reminder i am 5'8" and my highest weight was 238. Surgery weight was 222.

That's my update for today!

2 weeks left!

I already went through the anxiety of having the surgery. I was so concerned about altering my life this way and not being able to eat food the way I like to. How dumb is that? I want to change my life, yet I didn't know if I wanted to change it 'that' much. So silly. I allowed myself to be concerned, scared and anxious (as they are relevant feelings and needed to be acknowledged), however, I have since come out on the other side of those feelings. I'm so happy and grateful to be able to change my life!! I can't wait to have this tool to learn how to control my food, instead of it controlling me. I'm on day 2 of my liquid diet and I'm 100% dedicated to this! Not one cheat and there will not be one in the next 12 days!! I have lost 8 pounds so far since scheduling my surgery and am on track to meet and possibly exceed what the nutritionist set for me to be at for my pre-op weight. I'm so excited for this and I can't wait to be on the other side of surgery! Thank you to all the people who post....it's so reassuring to read what people are feeling and thinking throughout their journey to know you are not alone!
