WORTH IT$5,000

Hi girls! You can just call me B, I'm 23yrs old, 170cm tall, 50kg and live in Australia!
I am currently at 3 months post op, and are absolutely loving my new assets!!! My breast surgery stats are below:

Went from not being able to fill an A cup (probably AA cup) to filling a small C cup
320CC
High Profile
Silicone
Tear-drop
Dual-plane (both under & over the muscle)
Incision under the breast fold
$5,000

In Australia, the cost of breast augmentation ranges between $10,000-$12,000. For me, having recently graduated from university, I wasn't able to even consider being able to save up that much money, and I had no intentions on getting a loan for them. So, after meeting a girl at my new job who told me about a company in Austalia that organises a group of girls to go over to Thailand and get surgery over there together (and only $3,500-$5,000)!!

After paying the management fee, buying flights to Thailand and booking accommodation in Phuket, it was all ready to go! All I had to do was get the courage to jump on the plane and go through with the whole experience.

Looking back on it now, I can't believe I actually did it and went through with it! After three months, they had definitely dropped, softened and look more natural now. I can actually fill dresses now, show off cleavage, wear swimmers without being self-conscious that others are starring at a flat chest, and go around not wearing a bra and not caring!! It was definitely worth it in the end, and am recommending it to any of my flat friends who are wanting to change their lives as well =D

Hi Kooberry thanks so much for the kind words - I'm so glad I was able to get the tear drop implants to achieve that natural look :)
How long have you been post-op and how are yours going now? No complications at all?

Hi B, Thank you for sharing your experience. Did the doctor tell you about the replacement period of the prosthesis? I went to Bangkok for a consultation last month, my doctor tell me the prosthesis need to be replaced every ten years. I supposed it's one-time implanted. But in Korea, they will tell you it's one-time implanted. I am quite confusing now... Have you heard about this?

Hi Cheesecake, thanks for your response. No matter which country you receive your BA in, the lifetime of implants are never forever - the general lifetime is 10-15yrs, depending how well you take care of them. I know that I will be having children within the next 10yrs so I will most likely be replacing them before 'the due date'. Hope this helps alleviate any confusion? Keep up the research!

The recommendation to have implants replaced every 10 years came from a study that was done many years ago and was done on an older generation of breast implants. The new generation of breast implants no longer require replacement every 10 years. Now you leave them in until something happens. If everything is good, you don't need to have them replaced preventatively.

Hi again b~ I am currently 6 months post op. Mine are truly great!  I love these new breasts, they have a very natural appearance like yours. Honestly, most people do not even realize I have implants when dressing conservatively. But when showing them off at the beach it's fun to turn heads...Lol (Only complaint I have is some loss of nipple sensation. Pre-op mine were VERY, very sensitive. Now they have a numb-ish feeling. hopingthat will change &  they will eventually regain more sensation. Other than that I am thrilled & hope you luv yours too. ;))

Oh wow you sound exactly like me Kooberry!! I haven't even told a single person at my work that I got them done, and because I wore such massively padded bras pre-op, when I came back to work with new boobs, they just looked like they were before, just slightly bigger..but now instead of 'all bra', no boob', I'm now 'all boob, no bra!' haha!! ;P

And I'm wondering when I'm going to get full sensation back too! I'm still numb from nipple down :( maybe if I keep massaging them they will get their feeling back? :P hehe Do you still have to massage yours 6months post-op? I think I will keep it up, just incase!

Q: did you have one boob that was harder than the other at the start? I was super paranoid about my rightie because it felt much harder than my left one but I assumed it was because my rightie had less breast tissue to work with..? :/ I'm not certain?

I just can't wait ti summer comes round so I can hit the beach in my new bikinis & new boobays!! ;P

Hey I was wondering where you got them done and who your doctor was , they look great!!

Hiya! My surgeon was Dr Veerawat from Phuket International Hospital. I went through the company called Somnio (www.somnio.com.au) who arranged everything for me so I didn't have to stress about going overseas for surgery! :D
Are you in Australia and still in researching phase pre-op? What are your plans for moving forward? :)
April 15, 2013
I heard about somnio too! Good things. I am considering it as it is so much cheaper. I just want to make sure I am not compromising anything for it being cheaper. Thanks for the review!!

Trust me..you will be more satisfied with the results going through a trusted company to travel overseas for your procedure, rather than the treatment you would get here. Aussie surgeons are more concerned about your money, whereas Thai surgeons (who are internationally trained) actually care and worry about the service provide. My surgeon was the very best and most demanded in Phuket so knew I could rely on him doing a great job. Let me know if you would like anymore info about Somnio :) B.

Can't believe I've had these gorgeous puppies for boobs for over a year now. I've had no dramas at all and love to get them out in swimmers on the beach. I don't feel like they look fake at all - more like beautifully perky boobs! Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about Thailand, Somnio or my surgeon Dr V! :)

Was wondering the difference between breast augmentation and breast implants. I thought they were the same thing? I'm trying to decide which route I want to take. Originally I wanted the augmentation but now I'm a bit confused, specially seeing that your surgery consisted of over and under the muscle. did

Deski, I think you need to do more research first and look up the definition of those two terms, as they are completely different to having your implants placed either under/over the muscle. It will be clearer once you look into it more

Sorry to jump in, augmentation means to enlarge the breast, it's usually implants so that's why it gets confused but it could be fat grafting etc. implants are just that. Hope that helps :)

Hi again BBoobies! After speaking with you a couple of months ago I have paid my deposit to have my surgery done with Dr V :) I'm so nervous but excited, I just hope I don't chicken out on the day haha. Your girls are looking fabulous! I'm just curious, how long did they take to drop? I'm going to Las Vegas 6 months after my surgery and want to make sure I'm new assets will be ready to show off haha. When Dr V recommended teardrop I was worried because they looked like they sit so high on the chest but now I realise they will drop and look so natural and perky still :) I just have to remember this when I wake up with swollen boobies coming out of my collar bone and not freak out hahaha would you be able to post a front on view now your boobs have dropped? So glad to read everything has gone well in the 12 months since your surgery :)

Ahh I'm so excited for you!!! You know you'll be in safe capable hands so no need to worry about that :) Yes 6months post op is plentttyy of time for them to be ready to show off! I went to Hamilton Island for a week one month after surgery & sure they were quite hard looking but they soon soften up, just gotta be patient :) I posted two pics from May this year so that's exactly one yr post op. I wish I had the support of RealSelf prior to surgery to ask all of these questions so you're lucky you discovered this site before it all! :) Any other questions, feel free to fire away! X
October 9, 2013
Sorry one more question lol. Did you buy your post surgical bras in Australia before you left? How did you know what size to get? Or we're there some available in Phuket? X
User Avatar
October 9, 2013
Somnio made us all buy $75-90 post surgical bras, but honestly don't need them. Once you wake up, your doc will have fitted you with one that's perfect for you, and during your post-op consults (e.g. during the removal of stitches aweek later), you can request for another post-op bra. A lot of girls never ended up using the bras we bought before we went over. They can double as a sports bra down the track if you dont use them post-op anyway. :)
October 9, 2013
Yeah Dr V had me wear a underwire bra for 6 months, he said compression bra would cause stress to my incisions! Wasted $110 on the compression bra I thought I needed

Hey B! How are you? i had my BA also with Veerawat a month ago, teardrop implants over the muscle. I had a question...did he tell you to massage your breast?? Because 1 week post op, when he removed my stitches he told me to massage my breast and how to do it, but then everywhere on the internet says to Not massage teardrop implants at all!! And after massaging my breast 1 month post op im feeling more pain than in the beggining :/ just wanted to know if you got told to massage as well? I was wondering If I should try to contact him and ask him.

hows the scar now? i'm quite prone to keloid.... not sure bad it can get... so would like to know hows yours doing?
User Avatar

I scar really badly myself, so my scars look worse than the other girls who went on the same trip as me. I don't have keloid scars though..and I know this can make a huge difference to the appearance of your breasts if your keloids are very noticeable. I would suggest doing some research and asking around this site for other keloid patients to see how they have recovered..after all, everyone is different :)

Hi, as you can see by my review, I went with Somnio. Fabulous agent which I highly recommend! There are a lot of other agents out there as well, but I found Somnio had the best personal service and the whole group experience made it easier for me than if I were to head over to Thailand by myself (which I probably wouldn't have done!)
October 29, 2013
Hi I'am looking at going to Thailand next July but am scared as hell!! Have been tosing between a few agents but somnio seems to have the best reviews so far, how long cant you lift for?
User Avatar
November 17, 2013
Hi Kojak, what do you mean by lifting? Like at the gym? How heavy? It really depends on your body and how fast you recover, but you don't want to be heading back to the gym doing insane workouts after only a few weeks..you've obviously got to ease yourself back into it. As for lifting, I think it'd 6weeks, but depends. You will have to ask your surgeon/consultant about that :) And don't be scared! Go with a group like Somnio and you've got the entire group of girls in the same boat as you, so you won't be the only one with anxious emotions :)
