In my early 20's I settled into a life of a mortgage and new baby. I never really did anything for myself until now. Ive always been slim with a great athletic figure. However, my first baby was almost 10lb and left me with the dreaded flabby baby belly that no amount of exercise could get rid of. I put up and covered it up for 24 years! Even though every other part of me should have been wearing a bikini or figure hugging clothes I never did because of my belly. What a waste of time!! I should have done this years ago and enjoyed my youth to its best potential. Its funny after the procedure I didn't have excitement or feel overwhelmed by the sight of my new flat belly. Don't get me wrong!! I absolutely love my new tummy and everything about it, but I just felt normal and relieved. In hindsight, that is absolutely the best feeling. My scar is short, low and 6 months later is flat. I can already tell that it will fade away to be less noticeable soon enough. The surgery and recovery wasn't really a problem. Sure I was really really sore and bent over for a good few weeks but its amazing how quickly I bounced back. I read a lot and was prepared for what was to come which I think is the key to a relaxed recovery. I didn't stress about the process of healing as I trusted the information Dr Somia gave me regarding what to expect and at what timeframe to expect it.

Dr Somia is a kind, genuine and excellent surgeon. If you are considering having any kind of procedure you will be doing yourself a favour to book a consultation with him. He answered all my questions regarding my tummy tuck with patience and reassured me with his knowledge and backed that up with photos and sketches to ensure that I understood what he was talking about. By the time I had my surgery, I felt completely at ease and fully aware of what I was undergoing. His advice has been spot on as has his timeline for what to expect. This has helped me enormously. Each patient is different and at times I gave myself information overload. When I was having doubts he reassured me and was spot on with the healing process. His understanding and genuine concern makes such a big decision all the more easy and on reflections Im so glad I was lucky enough to have Dr Somia take me through this process.
