Ok so first things first my plastic surgeon is good! I had a rhinoplasty from him which I love but I think we have both bitten off a little more than we can chew in terms of providing me an enhanced chin/jaw.
I told him I wanted a more projected chin with wider jaw and none of the implants looked like they could do that so he said he would be able to create a new jaw for me by cutting up strips of silicone and stitching them to a chin implant to fit my face all the way up to my jaw joint (which already had great projection, its just the rest of the jaw concaved as it progressed towards the chin).
The results are just not cutting it. He can never get either side of my jaw even projection, he originally gave me an enormous chin which had be traumatized for a month but I was rushed into the surgery room to have it reshaped on January 5th and when I woke up things looked better but there were still flaws (i.e. uneven projection). It is NOT due to swelling as my swelling is like 90% gone (even my PS said so himself).
So my questions and concerns now are:
A) should I go in for a THIRD surgery to have everything removed and just put in a single implant with wings to give me as good and even a look as possible without trying to get too technical or should I just have it removed altogether?
B) Do people keep these implants in forever anyway or do problems arise years down the track requiring them to be taken out?
C) How do people cope with all the comments, stares, opinions, judgement of friends, family and acquaintances? So many people have noticed my new look and I honestly don't see anyone impressed with the results :-(
I have been thinking really hard about this and I just know that I will miss the projection of my chin as it looks great and natural but I just don't like the uneveness of my jawline and my changed smile.
One of the worst parts is I actually loved everything about the shape of my chin/jaw I just wish it was longer but the doc said he had to file the corners of my chin down (which gave it a great square look) so he could fit the chin implant onto it properly so now even if I take it off my chin wont look like it did before and it will likely be even less projected :-(
Please please please people and Doctors give me your honest opinions!!!!!
I will try attach photos post surgery soon.

Thanks so much for starting your story on RealSelf! I don't think your result looks bad, but it is a little exaggerated compared to what you had before. You're a good looking guy either way. Here's what some doctors say about needing to replace chin/jaw implants. I also think this is a good video about chin implants.

I also wanted to let you know that doctors don't generally read reviews, but you can ask questions directly (including a photo increases your chance of getting an answer). Go here to ask your question.

Hello did your smile and ability to show your lower lip came back?after the removal. Pls answr me ı got my chin implant removed and ıts been two weeks and ı cant smile or show my lower lip
Regarding whether you should remove it - you need to post some pics so people can see! From what I can see from the pics you uploaded your chin looked pretty strong before..? I believe that chin implants can cause problems in the long term if they are not fixed with a screw. Think about it, your jaw is constantly moving and the implant is sitting against the bone so there is potential for bone loss and inflammation. I found this link really informative and helped me choose a surgeon for this procedure http://*********
