Almost 2 years post op

Okay, so it's been awhile, but I wanted to update everyone cause I know how much I like to see updated reviews.

So it's been 2 years and I'm still really happy with the choice to have it done. I kind of felt like I'd just be skinny afterwards but that's not the case, i didn't even lose weight. My stomach got flat but exercise and a healthy diet are key over everything!! I wish I would have not slacked immediately after surgery!

7 wks po

Hey there.
Nothing much to update. I'm feeling great. Swelling comes and goes. I'm still not able to work out full force. He said I can start small and try a little bit on the elliptical so maybe I will.
I'm trying really hard to eat clean and low carb.
Going to Disney land on the 17th for my daughter's 10th birthday so hopefully all the walking doesn't kill me.
I believe my open wound is completely closes up or is 98.9% closed. I can't even pack it with gauze anymore because it's too shallow. Whoooo for that!!
Overall I am very happy with my decision and my results. I love my belly button and my scar looks great.
Hope you all are doing well!

6 wks po

Hi ladies.
Wanted to give an update on my open wound from necrosis. The discoloration started a few days po and the wound blistered and opened up around 8 days po. I am not a smoker but apparently these things still happen even so.
At 2 weeks I started packing my wound. I would get some gauze and drop some betadine on it and then stuff my wound with the gauze and cover it. Changing it about every 4 hrs. I did that for a week and them switched from drops of betadine on the gauze to saline instead. I am 6 wks po tomorrow and saw my PS today. He is really impressed with the level of care I've shown for my wound. It's healing is absolutely perfect. ( I do work in a hospital and have associates in wound care that told me to switch to saline and it started healing quicker. )
Here are some pics of my wound progress. It is nearly healed and should be within a couple weeks.
Other than that..I am good. Going crazy wanting to work out but my upper abs feel like they are burning sometimes or really sore because I have been just lifting small weights like 5 or 10 lbs just for my arms but I do feel a pull at my abs so I'm not going to continue just yet :/.
It also burns at the top of my abs right under my boobs when I sneeze. Ouch.
I am so happy with my decision. Even though I still have a lot of swelling and weeks and even months of healing left...I could not be happier with my flat tummy and my incisions. My doctor did great. Very happy with results so far! I hope this helps anyone going through similar issues.
Happy healing.
