How it works
  • Our highly-trained Review Moderation team evaluates all reviews before they're published to ensure they're written by people like you and not a member of a doctor's office.
  • This multi-step process takes up to 24 hours from review submission to publication.

Two Months out!

Second time posting this as realself just dumped my last entry. I am two weeks out and doing great! Most of the soreness is gone now; just a sharp tingling left if something pulls on the skin. Dr Wheeler says I have about 85% of my results. I love how I look, I felt like the extra fat on my flanks used to really shorten my waist, now everything is lengthened and all my clothes fit much more flatteringly. I was also impressed with the amount of fat he was able to remove from my lower back... I have practically no bra roll now. I will probably return to Dr. Wheeler in a year or so to get a breast reduction and lift which I have been wanting to do for a long time. He did a fantastic job with my lipo and I couldn't be happier with the results!

All Done!

I'm now into my second 24 hrs after surgery. I had my first post-op yesterday; everything looks good and I have no bleeding or oozing although I am still very swollen. I went in for Surgery at 11am instead of 12 noon on Thursday since Dr Wheeler was running ahead; which was greatly apprieciated since I was starting to feel really dehydrated. It took probably 1/2 hr to an hr to get me fully ready to go and sedated. They gave me a 'happy drug' first to take away my nerves but I was so out of it already I didn't notice any difference. I did see Dr Wheeler briefly as well but cannot now remember what he said. Then my anesthesiologist came in and plugged something into my IV. The room started to get heavy, and he said, "You can feel that!" I nodded and that's the last thing I remember. The. I woke up in the re overh area. I remember really being in a deep, enjoyable sleep and not wanting to wake up, but the more I woke up the more I felt like I'd been hit by a truck, which was what I told my boyfriend when he came back a few minutes later. They gave me some more oral and IV pain meds before disconnecting me which helped a lot, but it still felt like it took forever to get dressed and into the wheelchair to be wheeled out to the car. My boyfriend drove me the 7 blocks home and he has been a saint through this whole process; making me a pill schedule, getting food, etc. He took the whole day off work so he could be with me and stayed overnight on my uncomfortable futon. I am so lucky to be marrying this man in October! I can hardly wait.

Surgery is Tomorrow!

I just had my last pre-op this morning for markings. I am satisfied with the marked areas and feeling ready to go, although nervous. Amusingly, Dr Wheeler seems to keep pretty close tabs on his RealSelf reviews and teased me about posting pre surgery. At least I hope it was teasing. I had to read back though my review to make sure I hadn't said anything too uncomplimentary. I have an unfortunate tendency to come across as an arrogant snob when writing. Aside from that, I have everything written up as a checklist for tomorrow morning and should be ready to go whether I am called early or on time.

Dr Wheeler is very knowledgeable and articulate. I like that he was frank with me about what would work and what wouldn't, which areas I should stay away from, etc. His work is very thorough and aesthetic, and I have found his advice to be sound. I would not hesitate to return to him for further procedures should I have the budget and inclination.
