I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May, 2013...
I was diagnosed with breast cancer in May, 2013 and began the research in my treatment options and decided to go a more permananent route with a bilateral mastectomy and breast reconstruction. The process of finding a good plastic surgeon, I quickly learned, was not like shopping for a car but after several consultations with differnet surgeons, it was a clear choice for me when I met Dr. Polo.
His calm and professional demeanor I found very easy to talk to and felt comfortable to ask any question I had, which took the fear out of the whole ordeal. Equally important to note, I never felt pressured about any other procedures he could offer me that I had experienced in my othe consultations with other surgeons.
As it turned out, I had several complications and challenges from the initial bilateral mastectomy and Dr. Polo always returned my calls quickly even on Thanksgiving day! He also worked with his team to fit me for a surgery at a last minute need as a result of one my complications. His attention to detail, concern and questions were very thorough and took great care with my blood pressure issue before my surgeries were scheduled and even checked in on me at the hospital when I was there for a massive migraine from my blood pressure issues.
Now a year later, I have my health back and sporting healthy (and pretty) breasts and will continue to hold Dr. Polo in very high regard. Thank you Dr. Polo!
