I had persistent swelling under my left eye of unknown etiology. It was very troubling & embarrassing & I was wearing glasses at all times to hide it. Another doctor I saw before seeing Dr. Baharestani said it looked like "tissue necrosis" but did not know what to do about it. My history included Juviderm injections under both eyes well over a year prior to this problem & also a mosquito bite around that area several months prior. I found Dr. Baharestani by chance, when I did a search for an Ophthalmic Plastic Surgeon. When I made the appointment, I did not know if it would be for a medical or a cosmetic reason. Well, after hearing my history & careful examination, Dr. Baharestani was sure that the problem was a delayed reaction from the Juviderm injections. In fact, he had even published a paper on this very topic! He injected hyaluronidase & before I even left his office, the "bag" was gone! I cannot describe how relieved I felt. Had I not found him, who knows if other, less informed doctors would have done unnecessary procedures such as a biopsy?? I am considering lower blephoroplasty in the future & I would not trust anybody other than Dr. Baharestani to do it! Dr. Baharestani is caring, confident, skilled, intelligent, & trustworthy. Highly recommend.
