Day 13 Post

Still looking a little off, but I think the nose is going to be pretty straight once all the swelling is gone.

6 Days post op

Firstly, there is a ridiculous difference between the two rhinoplasty's. I mean everything, recovery instructions, pain level, amount of bruising and swelling, every aspect. I found this strange and actually alarming, how can one professional tell you not to sleep on your side and the other say no biggie? How can one tell you not to chew anything hard for the first week and the other say eat whatever you want? Anyway, I found this surgeon to be better. It is too soon to tell whether the results are good, but so far I am very happy with it. It is so swollen that I can not really pass air through it, it is running like a freight train, and it is covered in glue from the sticky cast (wonder what to do about that?), but it is what it is. What do you think? The most important part to me was to remove the bump on the side that made the curve more pronounced and fix all of the breathing issues. I realize that there is still a curve, and I actually think that after everything settles it might be even a more obvious curve than it is now. I am aware that there is a natural curve to my face, everything from cheeks to chin kind of veer off to the side. So, even if the nose it straight now, which I cannot tell because of the swelling,it will likely slip into a curved state as it is being pulled the direction of my overall face. I have no idea what I am talking about but it seems logical, no? Anyway, I can live with a curved face, I am not trying to be unrealistic and I think beauty doesn't necessarily mean perfection. I just hope it is a vast improvement from before.

I had a Rhinoplasty in November 2015. My nose was...

I had a Rhinoplasty in November 2015. My nose was bulbous and curved. Now, it is nice and normal at the tip but very crooked and with a bump protruding from the right side. The worst part might be that I cannot breathe well at all. When jogging I cannot breath through my nose at all. I cannot sleep on my left side for long because the right nostril collapses some and I cannot breathe through the left nostril. I also sneeze several times every day and am constantly congested, especially on the left side. I would say it is 50/50 functionality and looks that I am trying to get fixed here. I am beyond angry at the first terrible surgeon that annihilated my nose. I should have known better and gone with someone with more experience. This time, I am going with Dr. Kriet. I met him before the last surgery and did not choose him because he said 1. I cannot get you perfectly straight, and 2. he was more expensive, and 3. I really like theh "bedside manner" of the cute and young surgeon that I chose. Very bad reasons to choose a surgeon turns out. Anyway, Dr Kriet still says he cannot get me perfectly straight, but significantly straighter which I can live with. He says he can get rid of the bump and fix the breathing problem. I feel comfortable with him because he does 100 noses each year, all noses. This is great he really should know whats what in a nose. My fear is that he says that noses do change over time and can "redeviate" that just irritates me so much. Stupid noses. A success for me would be a nose that is no more crooked than it was before the first surgery, no more bump, and great breathing, and of course, a cute tip the same or better than it is now.
