Hello everyone, I've been a reader on this site...

Hello everyone,
I've been a reader on this site for some time and the reviews helped me greatly in making my decision to have my hair transplant surgery so thought I'd share my experiences too for those out there who are thinking of having their surgery.

I really started noticing my hair falling in my first year at university. First I thought it was due to study stress but it kept falling and before I knew it my hairline was gone. The more hair I lost the less confident I was to go out and I was very unhappy with how I looked so decided to have a hair transplant.

Didn't know much about hair transplant surgery when I decided to intervene so did a lot of research online. First I thought that hair transplant surgery was an easy surgery, just taking hairs from one part of the scalp and transplanting it to the empty area, but I was greatly mistaken. There are so many different techniques and surgery names out there you really need to do your research before deciding to have the surgery.

After doing lot of research online and visiting clinics for consultations I decided to go for the FUE method because I didn't want to risk the possibility of having a large scar on my head, and it seemed like a less invasive option.

My final decision was to go to Forhair Hair transplant clinic in Seoul. I am based in Seoul with work and why I chose them out of 5 other clinics I went for a consultation was that they seemed most professional with their presentations and the fact that they only specialized in FUE surgery. The consultation felt very professional with the consultant explaining exactly how the surgery process goes and what I can expect after the surgery and so on.

Fast forward to my surgery day.

I arrived on the day of surgery and had my bills settled and got preped for surgery and had another talk with the doctor regarding how I wanted my final results to look. My doctor was Dr. Oh Sung Kwon. He was very friendly and when it came to designing my hairline he was very patient (I couldn't decide on a hairline design) giving his opinions but letting me decide. After the design, they took photos and the anesthesia process began.

At Forhair they perform their surgeries under local anesthesia so I was chatting with the nurses and asked them about the surgery process during the surgery. They have a TV and wifi in the surgery room so I watched movies and TV shows also so I wasn't too bored throughout the surgery.

The surgery took 7 hours with 30 minutes lunch break in between and several bathroom breaks included.

I got a total of 1,621 grafts implanted and was released from the clinic after being bandaged up. Luckily the clinic provides a black beanie to wear on top of the bandage because otherwise my trip back home would have been very embarrassing. The clinic offered to give me hotel accommodation near the clinic for the night but I preferred to sleep in my own bed so went home instead.

The following day I went in and they took my bandages off and cleaned the wounds and gave in instruction on shampooing for the next two weeks. You can't touch the transplanted area for 2 weeks so they gave me a special shampoo for the area. You have to shampoo twice a day for up to 2 weeks using the shampoo.

After the surgery:
The hardest part of the recovery process was the waiting game. I was told during the consultation that the transplanted hairs would fall out after 3 weeks till up to 3 months, when the hairs actually started to fall out I was worried that something had gone wrong with the surgery. But as time passed I could see some baby hairs coming up and 6 months on I am quite happy with the progress.

Although I will have to wait 6 more months to see the full results of the surgery, so far I am very happy and I would like to recommend those of you that are exploring options of surgery to check out Forhair clinic.

I will keep updating my progress.
