I Had a Great Experience
I have always disliked my chubby cheeks. Throughout college, I would avoid taking pictures because I was insecure about the way my cheeks flared out when I smiled in pictures. I have tried putting botox in the masseter to slim down my cheeks, however, it did not give me the results that I wanted.
While searching for the right plastic surgeon on RealSelf, I found Dr. Lay. I read many reviews and scrolled through his Instagram page before I made an appointment for a consultation with him. When I stepped into his office, everyone was very welcoming and I felt comfortable there.
I talked to Dr. Lay about my cheeks and that I was interested in doing the buccal fat procedure. He explained the procedure thoroughly and examined my face. He told me that I was a good candidate for this procedure. Dr. Lay was patient and understanding with all the issues that I brought up about my cheeks. From that conversation, I knew I could put my trust in his hands.
On the day of the procedure, I was extremely nervous. This was my first time having surgery. I went with my two friends. I went to the office and Dr. Lay's assistant, Tony, took photos of me beforehand and took me to a room. Then, Dr. Lay came in and explained the procedure to me and took me to the surgery room. He allowed my two friends to keep me company during surgery also.
The procedure was not bad at all. The only pain were the shots to numb my cheeks and the rest was smooth sailing. I was comfortable the whole time because Dr. Lay and Tony made sure that I didn't feel any pain. I also enjoyed it a bit because Dr. Lay is funny and he makes you feel as if you are his friend.
After the procedure, my face was swollen for about 4-5 days. Then, it went down a lot after. I saw results in 2 weeks and my face kept slimming down. It has been almost 3 months since my surgery and I am very satisfied with the results.
If anyone is interested in having buccal fat removal, I would definitely recommend Dr. Lay.
