After losing more than 160 pounds, and keeping it...
After losing more than 160 pounds, and keeping it off 10 years, I felt wonderful - except when I looked in the mirror. My face looked like melted candle wax, and when someone thought I was my best friend's mother (for the second time in 2 months), I burst into tears.
It wasn't just vanity - I also needed to be job hunting, and although I was young enough for the health IT world, the truth was, I didn't LOOK like it.
My outcome? SO awesome that no one knew I'd had it (I changed my haircolor and glasses, and got a lot of "you look so rested" comments after my vacation). Those who knew, lined up to get Dr. Bermudez's name and number. My outcome was better than an acquaintance who bragged that she went to famous Dr. So and So and spent "almost 50K." (She looked like Joan Rivers... not the outcome I was after!). At the other end of the scale, a bargain hunting co-worker got a chin implant out in the burbs, and her implant was crooked... a defect that would have driven me crazy.

Dr. Bermudez was professional, careful, and exhibited a level of perfectionism that completely surpassed our expectations. He never made us feel rushed. Even better, he had swift response when I had a personal issue (unrelated to his care) that interfered with my surgery, and followed up diligently with my primary care provider to provide details.
