One of the best things I've ever done!!! Consultation Day/Procedure Day/Post Op- Salt Lake City, UT

Well today was a step that I didn't think I'd ever...

Well today was a step that I didn't think I'd ever take - was very nervous walking into the building feeling "is this truly the right thing to do?", met some girl at the front desk of course told her my name, she handed me the introductory paper work and of course I filled it out and handed it back and in the back of my mind I thought "Oh Great now they have all my info and I'm going to wait an hour to be called back", but I was very surprised and pleased it was almost immediately, very pleased! Amy explained everything to be in great detail and made me feel like "hey I'm ok with this now" she's making this sound way to easy and after further discussion she determined I was a good candidate, almost immediately I thought "its time for this spare tire to go flat". After visiting the office and visiting with Amy during the consultation I feel I have chosen the right place to get this done!

Things to take note from my experience:

Motivation: Extremely Motivated - working out at the gym 4-5 days a week and eating healthier!

I've considered doing this for roughly a year and half! -was very skeptical but thought hey its time to do something I'm not happy with myself!

Tips so far: Do your research and be sure its lifestyle change you want to take on.

Well today was the big day! Went in and had the procedure done! I came home and immediately fell asleep. I had just shy of 4 liters sucked out, which is very very good for males (according to the DR)! Ok so the procedure itself - went very fast - I had my upper, lower, and waist (front and back) done - took just a little over 2 hours. Dr. Avila - was awesome! He explained everything to me as he went along and sucked the fat stuff out. The numbing part was the most uncomfortable part of the procedure, it appeared to be about 7-10 inches long and was stuck in and injected the fluid. The area around my ribs hurt the most, but was only for a few seconds. Once all the numbing was completed he started right after with the "SUCKER" which took about 1.5 hours to complete all areas. I didn't experience any harsh pain while it was being sucked out, I just lied there and watched the yellowish substance being sucked out! Now that its been about 15 hours since I had it done I still have redish fluid draining from one of the incisions but I'm told thats normal!

After my experience today - I'd recommend Sono Bello for anything you may want done! I mean what doctor have you ever gone to and calls you at night to check to be sure you're doing ok? I don't know of one! Dr. Avila is the man!

I can't wait for the days ahead when I can take the compression vest off and start to see the true result!

I'll post pictures of before and after in the next few days!

Day 1 Post Op -
Uncomfortable but bearable - I didn't take any pain meds today - the worst part today was pulling off the tape they used to hold the bandages in place. This was more painful then the procedure itself. I can definitely see a drastic improvement already! I use to have love handles and today they're completely gone!

Day 2 Post Op - Definitely Sore and have seen some...

Day 2 Post Op - Definitely Sore and have seen some swelling because I've been up moving around etc. Starting to see bruising from the procedure but overall still very happy with the results!

Well today is day 5 post op! And I can say this is...

Well today is day 5 post op! And I can say this is honestly probably one of the best things I've ever done! I'm back to being very active minus heavy lifting, cardio, and heavy exercise. I feel I have so much energy and I can just go all day long, probably just a mind set because I feel so much better about myself, but its good! Very happy with the results so far! Still some swelling and bruising but overall is very good! Can't wait for the bruising to go away but that'll eventually go. Looking forward to my one week post op visit!

Just had my 9 day post op! Still have some...

Just had my 9 day post op! Still have some swelling but overall extremely happy with the results! Sono Bello has changed my lifestyle and self-esteem! I still have some swelling and its going to continue going down, which means I'm going to be skinner then I am today which makes me feel that this is the best thing I've done for myself!

Well its been a month since I got it done! I can...

Well its been a month since I got it done! I can still say its one of the best things - I'm wearing clothes that I wore back in high school! One thing I have noticed is that I have lost an inch or so off my waist so far - and my pants keep trying to fall off! Which is a great feeling! I expect to loose another couple inches within the next few month's. The biggest part about this is it has motivated me to the extreme with eating right and lots of exercise! I look forward to continued positive results! If you're on the fence about it, just go do it! I was scared and nervous, but who wouldn't be, it has changed my life!

Well I've finally hit the 20 pounds lost mark...

Well I've finally hit the 20 pounds lost mark since procedure! I can honestly say I haven't been happier! I have so much more energy and its so much easier to eat better! I've held myself to continue going to the gym 3-4 times a week and eating a 1500 calorie diet! It has done wonders! Still extremely happy with my results! The most exciting piece is though - I still have swelling - so you're probably wondering - why is that good! Its because I haven't hit my complete result yet, which means - I've even be slimmer!
Great review?

I am scared to death of needles. How bad did the numbing part hurt? :(
L87 17 Sep 2012
I'm the same way - Hate needles! But it wasn't bad at all.

I was curious about the cost for this procedure. Also, do you have an option to stay awake or go under.

Thanks and Congrats.

Mine cost me roughly $5500. I had a total of 4 areas done at 1249 an area plus tax plus the surgical fee. No I didn't have an option to be put a sleep - the procedure was really painless - when I say taking the tape off the next day was worse then the procedure its really true, believe it or not :-)

Ok cool that was quick results look ok so far now I'm in suspense for the pre op pic lol
Do u think 4days off from work is enough time to take off post op? I really don't want anyone at work to know I'm getting the surgery done.
L87 9 Sep 2012
I was the same way - I only took off two days (1 for surgery day and 1 Post Op day) of work and wore loose clothing at work - no one even questioned it.

Do you have some before and after photos? Please post thanks :)

Deeva84 5 Sep 2012
Congrats on your journey hope all is well with the recovery. So you were not put to sleep for this procedure?
L87 5 Sep 2012
Thanks! No, I was wide awake talking to the doctor as he was sucking the nasty stuff out. Pulling off the tape the day after hurt much worse then the procedure itself.
