This is an overdue positive review for Dr. Craig...

This is an overdue positive review for Dr. Craig Berris in Sacramento, CA. He performed my lower Bleph surgery in June 2015. Dr. Berris is an ophthalmologist and an oculoplastic surgeon which made me very confident with his level of expertise and experience. He has done thousands of these types of surgeries. I found him do to another review on this site. I really believe it is worth it to go to a specialist especially when it concerns work on the eyes. I was considering doing both upper and lower eyelid but the Dr. convinced me that my upper eyelids really didn't need much so I just did the lower. I had issues with bags and fat starting to bulge out from behind my skin. I learned the approach taken for each surgery is going to be slightly different depending on the situation so recovery and bruising may be different in each case. In my case the Dr. did not remove the fat from under my eyes but rather, repositioned it. He did tighten up and remove a tiny bit of skin from under my eyes. I did have big black Frankenstein sutures under my eyes for a week to hold the repositioned fat in place... not pretty let me tell you. I also had tiny, tiny stitches along my lower lash line that were not visible. I have never had any type of surgery other than dental so I was scared but the procedure was performed under conscious sedation and it was over before I knew it. To make a long story short... I experienced minimal pain and only took Motrin, no pain killers. I did experience swelling for the first three days and then it started to go down. I had bruising but not severe. I had a small amount of stubborn bruising that persisted for about three weeks. You will need to hide from the world if your stitches looked like mine for at least a week. Honestly, that was the hardest part. My stitches came out after a week and I went to work the day after. I still didn't look great but I work with two others in a small office that I know and trust. In other cases, I would plan on a two week hiatus for this surgery! I am very happy with the results. I am 47 and am glad I didn't wait any longer as I feel much happier with my looks. I a few years I will go back for the upper eyelid... that is much easier than the lower I have been told. The only downside I can report is the office tends to run behind and the Dr. is very busy. You will end up waiting past your appointment time. Otherwise, he is very pleasant and easy to talk to. The staff is also very nice and helpful. If you are thinking about it... just do it!!!

Dr. Berris was very easy to talk to and put my mind at ease for the procedure. I felt confident he know what he was doing and took time to look at my face and make a personal recommendation for how the work should be performed. The staff was very pleasant and profession. The only downside at least during my experience is long wait times for appointments as the Dr. is very busy.
