Its the most unusual feeling of being scared but at the same time I can't wait for what I am scared of. I am posting before pictures as this is the first step in me walking in my freedom. Not even my loving and very caring boyfriend has seen me in this light but oO well here goes nothing. (see pictures) On June 24th I will be getting a full tummy tuck with lipo something I have wanted for years.

I am a mother of 3 boys the youngest of which is 13 and the oldest is 21.

I will post pictures as I have found them to be a great help so welcome to my journey. I have posted pictures of what I look like in clothes or my disguise as I like to call it because you would never know the horror that was underneath them. LOL

So here are my questions for the pros that have been through the tt

1. Should I try to lose any weight during this time?

2. What should I eat after surgery?

3. Is it unreasonable to believe that I can go back to work in 10 days?

Hello, Good luck on your Journey. I think your description of "in disguise" is funny - I always felt the same way "I look good in the wrapper" lol. I will give my personal opinion to your questions since I have found this website to be very helpful in my journey. I have read that being at a healthy weight is best for this surgery - you would not want to have the surgery and then lose a large amount of weight as it could affect your results. You can eat whatever you want after surgery but it has been recommended to make healthy choices and also make that your new lifesyle since you would not want to put the weight back on. I can say that I have read and experienced on my own - you get full a lot faster after surgery therefor eat less which i think is great. I am 10 days post op today and I do think I would be pushing it a little if I tried to go back to work today - I am going back to work on day 12 (monday). I do feel a lot better and am able to get around better but I am nervous about going back so soon. A lot of people say that you get tired very easily so i think the first few days back are going to be a challenge. I do have a desk job so I am hoping for the best. I will try to update you on how my first day back went. Good luck and best wishes.

Thank you so much for the advice. Congrats on tt success. Did you post before and after pictures?

Let me just say....I think you look hot in disguise! I like to call it camo for myself! I have my tt scheduled for the 23rd. I'm right along there with you w/ feeling scared! I'm trying to lose weight right before my surgery b/c my friend had it done almost 3mos ago and she had 20lbs of swelling. I know everyone is different...she had a few complications....nothing major. If you don't get leg garments...you should wrap your legs w/ ace bandages...not too tight though b/c you need circulation. But this will help alot w/ the swelling. As for food....my dr is putting me on a liquid diet for 2 wks after surgery....so I've done some research and whey protien shakes are really good for healing and you get all the extras that come w/ it. Silm fast shakes are good for the extra vitamins. And you will need extra vitamins.(you can throw in some yogart too) So basically lots of protien!!! Drink lots of water as well. After 2wks keep w/ with the protien..cottage cheese, egg whites, fruits, veggies, spoonful of peanut butter here and there...I don't see peanut butter being a problem during the first 2 wks..but ask your dr. As for going to work....I have no idea. I'm a SAHM so my family is going out of town for 2wks which will help so my boys aren't crawling all over me! My neighor that had it done...took off a whole month...but she's a "desperate house wife"! I think it's cool we have our surgeries back to back...we can encourage and lift eachothers spirits! Deal? Deal! Sounds great!

Deal! I am excited for us! Should I ask my doctor about the leg garments? is this something that I would get from him?
June 17, 2010
Yes ask him about it. I asked mine about acebandages and they said they would give me leg compression garment instead!! Hurray that's less work for me. I'm excited for us too!

Hey girlie! I saw you went in on Wed as I did! So I hope you are not in a lot of pain...I'm finally coming around. But I can not stand up straight. Feels weird I'm not waking up and jumping right into my workout routine everyday as I usually do. I'm ready to hit the gym! Let me know how you are doin

Hi blackbutterfly ,you look really good in disguise, don't you love the leggins!!? they have become my #1 daily attire..lol love going back to the 80's. I'm having my surgery on Thu (17), today is my pre-op, will try to write on the 18th and let you know how it went. I'm only 4 11" so I'm hoping surgery will not take long, the only thing that sucks so far is that my surgery is at 2pm I have to b at the center at 12:30 so I'm going to b starving!!! but knowing me...I think I would b too preoccupied about the surgery that I'll probably forget about being hungry..lol. Anyway, just positively think good thoughts, don't stress yourself out, just think of how much hotter you're going to b after your surgery, aaand... say "hello" bikini : )

I had an extended TT with lipo and it's the most amazing thing you can do for yourself! You look awesome in "disguise" by the way. :) I wouldn't try to lose any weight in the 2 weeks though. You want your weight to be stable when you go in. That way you get the best results possible. So don't do anything to lost a bunch of weight as you could possibly can it back right after surgery. Right after surgery stay away from salt and spicey foods. They will make the swelling worse. Eat really healthy and make sure you gets lots of yogurt and fiber as it will help with constipation from the meds they give you. Ten days may be a little soon for work depending on your job. I still couldn't stand up straight at 10 days. If you have a job where you can sit all day then you might be able to do it. Just make sure to rest as much as you can when you get home. Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Good luck!!

Thanks so much for posting your photos. You're going to love your new body. And I adore your description of being scared of what you're excited about. What an odd sensation, huh?

Please keep us posted. And, if you're interested, I'm giving away a great goody package including Mederma, Silicone ScarAway Sheets, Colgate Wisps and Montagne Jeunesse facial masques for some post-op pampering. All you have to do is email me a pre-op and post-op video. Send me a personal message if you'd be up for this.

Good Luck with your surgery....I was feeling good before my surgery, not feeling nervous at all. The only thing I can tell you is that my surgeon gave a few meds to avoid nauseas, one of them is "reglan" and that medication drove me crazy, super nervous and anxious. I told my doctor and he gave me a Valium and then I was ok. Good Luck again!!

Wow! How exciting for you!! Mine is on Tuesday and I still cannot imagine myself without the "minibutt". So encouraging to see your story (it's hard for others to understand when the outside wrapper looks pretty darn good!)about wanting to have this procedure done. Best to you, we'll have to support each other!

Thanks DaniM and Yes I am here if you need me I will try to stay online as much as I can after the surgery. I just picked up my prescriptions from my doctor to have them filled before hand and that makes this very real to me. I feel the same way I can't believe that I won't have this belly anymore I can't wait!
