Basel Carcinoma--Continued Progress Healing

To be honest, I had doubts the huge scar, encompassing the entire top of my nose, would dissipate as quickly as it has in only five months. There is still a bump and a small bit of scaring on the right side of my nose. Why the left side healed more quickly, I have no idea. But, I am enthused to see gradual progress with continued applications of Vitamin E. I read on the internet that lemon juice helps reduce scars; I've tried it and believe it helps. Seems to shrink pours. Rome wasn't built in a day!

Basel Carcinoma Recovery, Week 7 Post-Op

I attribute my quickly progressing recovery to the caring hands of my surgeon, Dr. Ravi, Dahiya, Potomac Facial Plastic Surgery, Rockville, MD, and Vitamin E! Still have a few bumps on my nose, but they are discipating as daily care is a top priority and following Dr. Dahiya's orders. Still noticeable, but the difference is amazing from only a few weeks ago. I'm hopeful I'll have a much better nose, in the end, than I've had in my lifetime. I welcome questions, and comments! Cheers to you all! Saundra

New Photos-6 Weeks Post Op

Nose still on the mend. I can see visible signs of healing weekly. Only two weeks since the flap was removed from graft. Already, the left side of the graft looks better and easier to cover. The right side is better, but not as far along in healing as left. Healing is a process that requires patience and care. I gently massage the bump on bridge of my nose, twice daily with Oil, as recommended by my doctor.

Dr. Dahiya's main objective is the success of each patient's outcome! His concern for every aspect of the surgery, lends expertise to every detail! He and his staff are so wonderful, treating me like I'm family! They are informative and constantly in contact with me, sending pre-op instructions, asking for questions, or concerns after the surgery. I received a call from the doctor the evening after my surgery just to check on me! His assistants call to keep tabs on my recovery. Had my first stitches removed in one week with second surgery scheduled as described above. Wonderful doctor! Real credit to his highly specialized medical training beyond as a Harvard graduate! Read his bio at the bottom! Best way to make a wise choice in a physician, especially for such delicate procedures.
