I was motivated to get my eyelids done and when I went to a consultation I was told that I basically needed a browlift. I was becoming very unhappy with the way my lower face and chin were starting to sag, and my neck was becoming very crepey. I decided that if I were going to do the brow lift that I should just do the whole thing. This will be a one time thing for me. I consulted the best plastic surgeon in Reno, Nv. It would be expensive, however, I was assured that it would look very natural and not fake, which was important to me. I did not want to appear stretched or surprised looking. I am a very active 58 yr. old who stays in good shape, has a big place to care for, a wonderful husband, 2 horses, dog, cat, big garden, I eat super healthy, and I am on the Wiley Protocol hormone replacement therapy. I just did not like what I saw in the mirror, as it did not reflect how I really felt.

My procedure was done on June 11, 2013, just 16 days ago. I am already very happy with my results and I know that I am only partly healed.

My husband and I stayed 2 nights in Reno while I had my surgery and then went back the following morning to my Dr.'s office. It was rough the 1st night, as I had a lot of nausea from the anesthetic. My poor husband, was up all night with me, bringing me ice, water, and giving me my pills. I don't believe that either one of us thought it would be that hard. After we got home, there was not a lot of pain. I didn't take the percocet that I was given after 2 days, only Tylenol. I also used arnica topically and in the pill form and Vitamin K cream. I iced religiously for about 5 days, and slept almost sitting up on several pillows. I was tired, but that went away after a week and a half. My ears are all healed up in front and I am now using a scar cream called "Corneum." Tomorrow I go back to see my Dr.

You do look like the procedures worked very well for you. I also was not happy with the way I looked in the mirror but know what really made the decision forme. My new cell phone! It has the self portrait feature and I could not get a picture that looked as I seen myself. That was an old, wrinkle necked, frowning person. I sat down and really looked at myself and decided the camera was not lying. I was lying to myself about how I looked. Within a week I had done my homework and had a PS appointment. I had surgery May 15 and so far so good. I am glad yours is going so well.

Connie Lea, I had to laugh when you said the cell phone was the deciding factor. Geez...I did the same and was horrified! lol It wasn't my only factor but you are right pictures don't lie! :)

So glad your husband was happy with your look. That must've been nice for you, too. :)

Yes, those hubbies do get a workout that first night after surgery but I think it is well worth the price when they have such an amazing wife afterwards.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this surgery and as they were healing had their hair coming out? It seems that every time I comb my hair I shed quite a bit. My Dr. said it from the anesthesia, however, I am wondering how long this will last.

My hair has also thinned in the front hairline. I have a appointment next week with my doctor and I am also going to ask that question. Please keep us posted if you have any updates.

Please let me know what you learn about this. I'd really appreciate all info regarding this hair loss.

mlouise, I didn't have the hair loss that you are describing but I have to say that my hair didn't take so kindly to the surgery.  It's not growing as fast as it normally does in the summer and it's pretty dry.  The original clumps that fell out right after the surgery freaked me out but it was isolated. On the other hand you look just great!

Thank you, I like the result, just decided that I will wear a headband and stick with my hats (good sun coverage) for now. I trust my Dr. that this will all eventually grow back, it is kind of tough to brush your hair and have about 200 or 300 hairs come out.. I'm just going to be gentle with it, and count my blessings...

I had an episode like that. It was not related to my surgery. I was suddenly losing huge amounts of hair. Went to doctor and he referred me to dermatologist. I already have hypo thyroid and am on meds for that. Anyway he said it is reaction to a stressful event. Body can react to stress by attacking "things" like hair folicals....in the body. Surgery is a stressful event for the body. Nothing can be done about it but that it would subside....and it did and everything grew back. But sooo upsetting when it was happening.
