I had Radiesse injected in my cheeks to lift them as they sag with age. This helps the lines by the nose as well because the skin is being lifted. HOWEVER.. with plumper cheeks ( which were very nice an youthful) the hollows of your eyes tend to look deeper, therefore darker. I have to use more coverup under my eyes. The product feels and looks nice and natural. I look fresher and more youthful with makeup on, but without it the eye circles are a problem. Next time, I'm hoping to do less in the cheeks and try and avoid the circles. With injectables it's all about the skill of the practioner, and also seeing how it affects your face. What works for one person may not work for another. You have to adjust your treatments the next time around and hopefully fine tune it. But with a bad Doctor they are unable to do that. As far as pain...I had the area numbed so that was fine, but the swelling lasted several days and I did look rather odd and puffy. It takes a few weeks to really settle in.

my doc wants to do that. instead of injecting restalyne or juvaderm in my nasal folds she wants to inject radiesse right under my eye next to my nose to lift the skin. she said it would take the nasal fold lines away and help the wrinkles under my eyes. which are very fine and few. i am scared! i think I might just try the juvaderm in the folds. the radiesse is 900.00 for 1.3 ml vial and the juv is 700 for 1 ml. what do you guys think????

The injections I had in my cheeks were done on the lower parts of my cheekbones, not anywhere near the eyes. I they want to do anything near your eyes I would go see someone else. I don't think the injections in my cheeks reduced the nasal folds. I paid $800 for one vile she saved a bit to inject a little into my laugh lines and one other little spot. I know it's expensive, but I would do botox for the lines around your eyes and talk to another professional about the best filler for your nasal folds. Hope this helps. BTW: The swelling from the radiesse in my cheeks is finally going down and a bit happier with the results.

I had radiesse injected to plump up the "apples" in my cheeks. I was told radiesse is thick or more dense than other fillers so it was good for this application. Before the procedure I was instructed to avoid motrin, asprin, etc for a week and not to drink alcohol a day or two before - these can increase bruising and discoloration. The filler was injected in the hollows of my checks in about 3 sites per check. It does hurt a bit and I'm glad a took something to calm me down before I had the procedure. The filler was shot upwards and then smoothed with aloe on a cotton pad. She actually formed the radiesse in my face. I was told to sleep on my back with my head raised for a few days and to avoid exercise and pressing or rubbing my face. I had bruising in one of the injections sites which faded and went away after 7 days. It's been 2 weeks and my checks still feel a little swollen and weird. One thing that bothers me is that I developed some sort of sinus thing - major dripping, giving me a sore throat that sent me to see my doctor. I'm not sure if the radiese injections had anything to do with this, but the stuff is sitting in my checks on my sinuses so I can't help but connect the two. Anyway, the results are not amazing but I was told the effect would be nice but subtle. I did not get dark circles under my eyes or discoloration. It scares me when I read about the discoloration side affects here on this site; I guess that could have happened to me. I really think this product might be most affective in the laugh lines and lines downward from the corners of the mouth. I've decided to make a decision on whether it was worth the time, money and trouble after one month. I'll keep you posted. ~PAL

I just had Radiesse injections to fill the wrinkles under the nasal folds and I am extremely unhappy. I think there was too much filler put in, and now I look like I have cotton stuck in my upper mouth, or like a chipmunk. I would never recommend this to anyone.

I had Radiesse to plump up my cheekbones. I think it is a great product for people who naturally have cheekbones but I realized while having the procedure that I never really had definite cheekbones so it did not really matter. I did like that it "filled" up an area and made the lower cheek area look less saggy however, I did find that it made circles under my eyes that I had before but this time they were more pronounced. My cheeks also hurt when pressure is applied. I think it is a great product when used for the right person. My doctor is amazing and no one ever noticed I had it done except for me. I just need filler in the lower areas of my face and not try to produce something I never had. Also, I have bad sinus problems and I think the product may have put a little extra pressure on my sinus area as I have had a lot more pressure lately.

I just had radiesse injected in my cheekbones and a little in my nasal folds as well as corners of the mouth. The doctor used the whole 1.5 cc which was mixed with lidocaine . The procedure itself was pain free,as the injection sites were treated with Lidocaine before the procedure. All that was the only best part. First night after the treatment I could not sleep , huge discomfort, and the face felt like I was sun burned, on fire. The next morning I got enormous migraine with nausea and vomit. Face was still burning .And the nose felt stuffed and dry. On the third day I felt better, but the left side was all bruised . I know there are no allergies or side effects listed with radiesse but every human body is different. I am never , never going to use radiesse again . I only trust HA fillers like juvederm and restalyne. I also think cause radiesse is made in US , doctors push it as they get a good "cut" from each syringe. Also the drawback is that my cheek bones look fuller which makes area under them or the middle cheek look more hollow . Well I told my doctor that it concerns me , he just ignores it . But that is the whole other story.
