1 Month down...a lifetime to go.

It has been 1 month and things couldn't be better. Yesterday I had my checkup appointment and the last bit of tape was removed. I was incredibly happy to have the tape removed because I was so ready to shower. Shallow bathing was getting old lol. I still have the tape on my incision sites which will remain there until they come off on their own with my showers. Seriously, I showered for over an hour yesterday! My breasts no longer have sharp pains but the lower half of my breasts are still a little numb. They are also filling in nicely and the skin is really bouncing back. I was also given the go-ahead to run and I am able to do LIGHT chest exercises. Pretty much, life is good and I could not be happier post-explant! :):):)

3 Weeks Post-Op

Today marks 3 weeks post implant removal. Things are going very well. Still wearing steri-tape and have my next checkup a little over a week from now. The only issue I have currently is not being able to work out to my full potential. I also have to avoid sweating to keep my tape dry. I am keeping my activity level to a minimum because I do want the best results possible with my capsulorrhaphy. My pain is non-existent and my breasts are beginning to look even better. I feel that they have filled in a little bit more as well. STILL happy with the decision to get rid of my implants and feeling more and more like my self everyday. :)

BANDAGES ARE OFF!

Today has been a great day! I went to my appointment thinking I would have SOME of my bandages removed. Daisy and Dr. Pousti removed some of my bandages and determined I was healing nicely and only needed some of the tape that would help my skin to bounce back. Today was also the first day that I got to see my breasts. I was unsure how I would feel and how my breasts would look; however, this site has helped me have somewhat of an idea how they would probably look and I am thankful for that. My breasts were not full and they were smaller than when I had breast implants BUT that did not matter! Words cannot fully express how relieved and happy I felt when I saw them. It was like a weight was lifted off my chest (no pun intended :)). My joy was then increased when the doctor told me I was free to continue working out as long as I avoided chest specific workouts. Hallelujah! The first thing I did was go to the store and buy some tight sports bras and then I went straight to the gym. I felt so comfortable with my natural breasts. This was the first time in a long time that I didn't feel ridiculous going to the gym because of my "huge" boobs. There as no better feeling than being all natural. I know it may not be that way for everyone but it is just right for me. I have my next appointment in 3 weeks and we will see how my breasts change. I am very glad I made this decision and thankful for the people at Dr. Pousti's office who made it all possible. *sigh of relief* :):):)
