One month follow up appointment

I had my follow up appointment with Dr. Kim on July 31st. It was a pretty quick visit. He looked inside my nose and answered the couple questions I had about the healing process. He said everything looked great and was very happy with the results (as am I). We took some "after" pictures and will probably do more at the next appointment to track the progress.

I can tell it's healing more each day. Even since last week it feels like it's starting to get closer to normal. I'm getting some feeling back on the tip which helps a lot. And I can almost blow my nose normally again (although I don't need to as often as I did before the surgery). I do still have allergy symptoms but much more manageable/bearable now that I can breathe properly through my nose.

One month today

Today is one month exactly. Recent thoughts: I knew the healing process would take a long time but that doesn't make the day to day tediousness of recovery less irritating. It's actually been more "painful" in the last two weeks than the first two but pain is still too strong a word. I think it's the swelling going down and the nerves starting to get feeling again that make it a little more uncomfortable than before. It's just surprising to me because I expected it to be the other way around.

Now for the good stuff: my breathing has been great. I'm not self conscious about my nose anymore which is such a relief. I'm going to have to retrain myself on taking selfies because the angles to avoid showing my nose aren't right now that it's fixed. The good far outweighs the irritations at this point. No regrets for sure.

Week 3 update

I can tell the swelling has gone down quite a bit (but still plenty more to go). One weird thing that happened in the last week is all the skin on my nose and cheeks peeled like I'd gotten a bad sunburn. I can't really exfoliate my nose at the moment but the rest of my skin is back to normal.

My nose still feels really stiff and sensitive. The last stubborn stitch fell out 2 days ago (highlight of my day). Today was the first day at work that I didn't feel completely exhausted by the end and my eyes are finally feeling less sensitive to light. Hopefully this keeps up.
