Befor & After

I feel like I'm experiencing a rebirth!

Just Do It!

I wept today looking at the woman I was. I weighed between 130-140 my entire life. I would never have believed someone if they told me that one day I would be a size 24. That was a very unhappy place. I can't say where the strength came from to take control of my life and my circumstances other then the grace of God. I'm not a religious person so I don't say that in a zealous way but I don't know how else to account for what I consider - a gift.

I just saw Dr. Brenman for my 3 week check in and he said every thing looked great. The stitches are dissolving nicely and there is minimum scarring. I still have a little swelling in the neck and it's still somewhat numb. He took my photos and he was really pleased. I felt like the artist was very pleased with his work and that gave me an extra boost of confidence that I chose the right Doctor. When I left the office he extended me his hand. I said "Can I give you a hug?" He said, "I take those too."

I need to post better pics of my neck but my new eyes are consuming me - I'm so happy! If you are considering eye or neck surgery, make the decision and don't look back. Find a reputable Doctor! I saw 4 doctors and looked at their work before I picked Dr. Brenman. Surgeons wake up everyday excited to do surgery. I had (we all do) lots of deep emotions behind what's driving our desire to have surgery. I had to realize the surgeon is not a therapist. I got so nervous the day of my pre-op thinking about the fact the doctor never told me I was going to look beautiful. I know it may seem silly but it gets exciting and terrifying when the day approaches. In my mind I was looking for a way out because I was so scarred. I asked one of women in the office who had done facials on me if I could talk to her before I saw the doctor. She was awesome; I'll share more about that on another post. My doctor is gentle, reserved and very polite; he wasn't going to give me a sales pitch. Bottom line. Find a doctor with a disposition you feel comfortable with but more importantly has a body of work and a sound reputation as a surgeon.

Find out what it's going to cost and make your plan. It took me from October 2013 until December 2015 to get money and finances in order. If you want this surgery you can do it. Just Do It!!

Two Weeks Post Surgery

I got my eye stitches out a week ago - it felt good to have them out. Everything is healing well. My eyelids are extremely dry and some what flakey as the new skin emerges. Overall I'm very thrilled! Dr. Brenman did an amazing job and I think a tummy tuck and boob job are next. It's nuts that I'm already thinking about that but I am - I want it all fixed!
