3 weeks on (before and after)

It's been 3 weeks now and all has gone well. I tried getting back into jogging last night however I'm still having pain inside my nostril as I run. The inflammation of the blood vessels is still a little much as my inner nostril membrane is not yet fully developed (I was picking at it during week 2 which probably slowed it down). Anyway, thought I'd post some pics. It's looking great and I'm very happy. The tip is still tender and slightly swollen as expected. I'll hopefully remember to do another post with pictures at the 6 month and 1 year mark to show the full completion of the new nose.

Day 6 Before & After

Day 6 (last day with splint - that already fell off)

Well I'm going back for my check up and splint removal tomorrow (then going to work the day after!). As mentioned the splint already came off, due to excessive use of paw paw cream. I have been sleeping with it however to protect the nose a little more, but spent all of yesterday with it off. Felt good to give it some gentle sun/wind, spending time on my couch in my backyard and also really get in with some icing on the actual nose. Just being very delicate and trying to do what feels right/good even though I'm probably going against advice and having the splint off at all. Had my first good nights sleep last night which was fantastic. I've also had a chance now to look a little more at the nose and get used to it. I'm really happy.

Have definitely thought a lot about the philosophical implications of having a nose job, as you do. There are different sides and arguments like everything of course. Some would call it vanity. The idea of betraying the noble path of loving yourself for who you are. Others would claim that it is our body and an expression of our selves, so we are entitled to use and define it as we wish. For me it has been empowering and i'm happy I did it. I have had my reasons, not all about trying to be better looking. I guess if there is anyone thinking about doing it, that's for them to work out if and why they want to do it. Of course the most important type of beauty to work on is inner beauty. This operation feels like a manifestation of having worked on that, not the other way round. It's an expression about how I feel about myself at this stage of my life and where i've come, and I'm happy with it.
Definitely writing about it and having some supportive comments has been really helpful and I'm grateful to the real self community for this. I hope some of my posts have been helpful as the one's I have read on here have been to me. I'll post some further pics down the track as I notice changes.
