I am 33 years old and have 2 beautiful boys, ages 5 and 2 1/2. After the birth of my first son, I was able to lose the baby weight and return to my pre-preggers clothing in 4 weeks (if I had only known then how lucky I was!). The birth of my 2nd was very fast and difficult (total labor was an hour). As a result, I have diastasis recti and an icky tummy that just won't go away. I am SO excited to get my tt done, although I have to admit, I am really nervous!

I am loving this site! So much useful information. I love reading everyones stories and looking at the transformations!

I am having my surgery 4 weeks from today. I just realized that I will miss out on the Easter festivities which really bums me out. Love watching my little ones hunt for Easter goodies. I'm debating on moving my date up, thinking maybe a week sooner. I will have to call my ps to see if that is even a possibility.

I had my pre-op appointment yesterday, made the final payment and pre-registered for my procedure! Definitely feels real now!

I have to say, I was a nervous wreck prior to my appt yesterday but Dr. O'Toole calmed my nerves and I am ready to do this! Looking at everyones pictures before and after is so inspiring. I really can't imagine what it will be like to have a flat tummy again!

Well it's been a pretty hectic morning/afternoon but I am home. Yay!!! Woke up with a sore throat this morning, was worried the procedure would be cancelled but it wasnt. Good thing since my MIL flew in from out of state to care for my little ones while I recover :) Bad thing is that I'm now coughing and the pain from that is horrible!!!

Everyone at the hospital was so nice and comforting! Made me feel at ease..thankful for that :)

Hope everyone is recovering well and not in too much pain!

It's day 3 PO and I'm starting to feel better. The first night was rough because of my cough, 2nd night I had a temp of 102 but all is well now :)
My mother in law is here taking care of my little guys..thank goodness, definitely couldn't have done this without here.
Super swollen but I'll post pics soon.
Hope everyone is feeling great and recovering quickly!

Sorry it's taken me so long to update! Last week was a bit of a roller coaster. I mentioned having a bad cough in my last post, that continued for 3 days...I honestly think each cough hurt worse than child birth! I felt like I was opening my incision with each cough. All I can say is hold a pillow TIGHT to your abdomen if you have the same problem.

I've been off of pain pills for 7 days, just tylenol on occasion. Pain wise, I'm feeling good. Like so many others, I thought I would recovery quickly and just sort of bounce back from this but it is a long, hard recovery. So so so worth it though!! I almost cried when I looked in the mirror for the first time post op. It's been almost 3 years since I had a flat, beautiful tummy. I can't wait until this swelling goes down, first thing on my "to-do list" is shopping!

Still have my drains in which is kind of crummy but I know they serve a purpose so I'm trying to embrace them..LOL.

Hope everyone is feeling well! Loving all of the post-op pics! You girls are going to kill it in a bikini this Summer :D

Saw my ps yesterday and finally had my drains removed!! YAY!! I have to say, yesterday was a huge turning point in my recovery. I feel a million times better without the drains, I'm in less pain and standing completely straight. Saw my scar for the first time and it's really not as bad as I expected it to be. I will post pics soon. It's a light pink color and very low. The only thing I'm not sure about is my BB. It looks strange, but I guess that's to be expected? I'm hoping once it heals, it will be nice and cute :)

Update #2:

Should have mentioned that I didn't feel a thing when the drains were removed...whew! My bb was sensitive when the stiches were removed but not painful, uncomfortable if anything.

Happy healing everyone!

Get coughdrops and water and have them all the time I learned to do like this throat clearing and drinking instead of coughing, LOL I have a cold that my son had, I suck the cough drop and just try to clear my throat I want to cough a deep cough so bad but it hurts like crazy! I hope you get better!!!

Try sipping on some hot tea with honey for the cough and throat.  That helps a bit.  You can even take a couple of teaspoons of honey.

Hang in there!

Congrats and welcome to the other side! I hope that cough goes away soon. It is extremely painful to cough the first few days after procedure. Make sure you are drinking strong cough medicine. Best wishes!
