Hello, all. I''m 36 yrs old, 5'4, 146 lbs. 2 pregnancies after age 30. I am the proverbial apple shape.Even at my lowest weight of 118 in my adult life, I had a prominent pooch. Very skinny arms & legs, no hips or butt. Just a big pot belly that is not only unattractive, it's uncomfortable. When I sit, my belly is in my lap. Every style of jeans, I still have a large amount of fat that literally hangs over my jeans. There are NO styles that flatter my shape. My belly is like soft squishy pizza dough. Yuck ..... On Aug 9,I'm having tumescent lipo of abdomen, flanks and back, lower abdominal skin excision ( not mini tuck, my muscles are in ok shape, just excess skin) and BBL ( I have no butt either ). As corny as it sounds, I feel almost like this is a dream come true for me. I have never been considered tremendousy overweight but because of my large belly and extra skin, I can't wear the clothing I want. I am so self consious of my body. It will be nice just to be able to wear clothing that fits in my waist as well as my legs. = ) I cannot believe how nervous I am. I also feel kinda guilty for using part of our savings to cover the cost. : / Mainly tho', I really am excited & wanting to get it over with. I am curious as to what others would suggest I do to prepare for surgery, looking for suggestions of things to have on hand that made your life easier post op.I know I need blue pads, arnica, bromelain, ginger ale & crackers. Any other suggestions ? What are some things that helped you in your recovery ? I am grateful for any tips or support.

** I will post my before pics soon

Well surgery was yesterday. Took 8 hrs as I had multiple procedures. I haven't gotten to see results as I was out of it when they put binder on. So far my BBL looks like it didn't happen. He removed alot more skin than he thought , which I think will look great. Lipo'd flanks , back, bra line, U/L abs & thighs, chin & jowls. Girls, I feel like poo but I know it will be worth it. Thank u for the support. I will take pics & post more when I'm not gourded out of my mind on pain pills. Feel like I was on the losing end of one hell of a bar fight or something. But I'm so happy it's over.

Ok, it's day 4. I am feeling somewhat better. Was able to get up and around and do a few things.Haven't had any pain meds today. I am so glad I did my homeowrk as far as bruising, swelling etc. YIKES !!!! I seriously look 7 months pregnant. My waist going in was 31 ( :/ ) and 4 days post op, I am actually at 32 inches, even tho he took a signifigant amount of skin and did alot of lipo to abdomen and flanks. I am happy that I actually appear to have curves now !! Shocker !!! Looking forward to this swelling going down. I have to return to work in 7 days and am hoping some of it resolves by then. ( to where I'm not asked how far along I am )

When will the damn swelling go down to where I can just wear pre op clothes ????? Holy $h*t, I tried on my old clothes & evens scrubs dont fit. I look huge pregnant. I have 6 days til I return to work , is there anything I can to to minimize this swelling just to the point of being able to wear scrubs ? I was Ill prepared for the swelling, truly.

Day #6 -- I actually felt really really good today. Swelling still there, but pain has been manageable w/ Motrin. I am still up about 8 lbs pre op, which is uncomfortable. My fatigue is diminishing as well. So, it is getting a little better each day. : )

DAy 9: HAd sutures removed yesteday. Also, got to see a pic of the skin excision. Oh....my....dog..... Disgusting. I can't believe how much he removed. He also dis ultrasound of my areas I had lipo'd. It really did seem to help. My weight day of surgery was 142, day after 152. Day 5 It was like 155. This am I am down to 150. The swelling is the only thing bothering me now..
