I scheduled an appointment in Tijuana mexico with Dr. Q of Cosmed clinic. I live in San Diego, California and we can not get aquamid in the states because of FDA regulations. The doctor was more than professional, so I went ahead and did 1cc of aquamid on my right nasal fold.(Nose to mouth lines) just to see if it was as good as they made it sound. It has been 8 years since and that side of my face is still perfect! I want to go do the other side, but never have had any extra money... I would recommend Aquamid to anybody. No side affects, no pain really. For a minute its torture, then its over! Better than restalyne and collagen and all others I think :-)

My Doctor: Alejandro J. Quiroz, M.D.

My rating:

The doctor is the same if not better than any doctor I have seen in the United States! PERIOD The office is technologically equal to those in the U.S. as well. Very professional and lovely setting. Wait times are usually under 20 minutes without an appointment! Lovely...

Hi diniss,

Thanks for the review. I'm glad you had such a positive experience with the procedure. You said it was a minute of torture, but said no pain, why was there torture? We would love to see pictures. Please keep us updated.

Thanks,

-Britt

The torture is during the injections. It wasn't that painful, But it is torture. It's just strange having something injected in your face. It feels like hell. But for the little two minutes of pain...I've had years and years of beautiful results. And I went back and had them do the other side of my face recently. Dr Quiroz was not in and another Doc did it. Cant remember maybe Campos? Don't know the Doc's name but The results are not as nice this time. My laugh line is not all the way gone. Kinda sucks, but I'm gonna go in and get 1cc of Aquamid again. Half in my laugh line, and half in my nose. (It is being used for mini nose jobs)Then for 7-10 more years I won't need anything else! I cant wait...

I have talked to Dr. Quiroz, and even went to Dr. Fuentes, (a partner to Dr. Quiroz.) to have him help me take out the Aquamid as he was someone that was familar with taking it out. He used a lipo needle and a syringe to try to suck it out. (I like the idea about using the vacuum mentioned in another post.) He was only able to get a tiny bit out for the 30 minute appointment. His cost for that appointment was similar to a PS doctor in the US. The other services they offer there seem to be less expensive like botox, etc. I do not live in CA so it is not easy to continually return for numerous efforts to get little out. I did like Dr. Fuentes, he was good to answer emails, and came across as very knowledgable and professional. The experience was depressing only because I was hoping for better results.
