Month 4

I went in to Dr. Willes because there was crowding in the front and a gap that didn't feel pleasant. With my next appointment set for the end of August, I didn't know if I could wait to be seen. (I just had my wire changed, about two weeks ago, too)

So, after examining my mouth. Dr. Willes applied..yep..you guessed it.. Power bands.

HOLY OUCH!

I can't open my mouth because it hurts. I can't touch my teeth together..because it hurts..I can't chew because it hurts..

I'm thankful to say that my job and home life aren't effected by minimal communication because I will probably have my mouth shut for a few days. [my husband will appreciate the break ;)]

With that said ^^^^ : I am happy that something is being done about the gap, because it was *slightly* embarrassing to smile and look like a grade schooler.

Another wire change, down

Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow. This wire is now thicker..and more rectangular..with a built in stopper.

My gap between my two front teeth has closed completely..it did in 3 hours. So the movement is clearly there.

I can't even touch my teeth together without jumping. Very sore...very.

But everything looks great. My tongue fits in my mouth more comfortably..and so far, no negative side effects.

Looking forward to the next 6 weeks to see how much has changed.

Wire Change

Ow ow ow ow.

So tender!! No solid food for me, for a few days. That's for sure. Movement is great. Only one deformed wire space. The new wire should put enough tension to remove that.

Had some blockers put on. My wire keeps shifting to the right, for some reason. Blockers will limit the mobility.

No build-ups taken off, yet. Also, no rubber bands, yet.

Progress, though! Lots of progress!

Wondering if I want to have my teeth whitened....Damn being a coffee drinker!

Dr. Willes is such a kind man! He made me feel very comfortable and was genuinely caring about my comfort level. His staff really takes time to get to know you and provided EVERYTHING that I needed. I am thoroughly excited to see them for my follow-up appointments. Couldn't have picked a better team to give me my perfect smile. They are very fast to get you in, but definitely give you the amount of time you need. I had a million questions to ask them and they answered every one of them. I walked in with a smile and walked out (despite having braces) with an even bigger smile. Highly recommend!
