31 Year Old Finally Wen Through with my Fleur De Lis Tummy Tuck After 120 Lbs Weight Loss

Here I am 12 days post op my fleur de los tummy tuck and I am beyond happy. My amazing Doctor removed 12.5 lbs of excess skin and fat from my abdomen. This procedure cost me 3x more in NYC than I would have paid in the Dominican Republic but totally worth it. Here are my results so far only 12 days post op. I will update later on my recovery so far

I Backed out....

I've had this overwhelming sense of uncertainty in the pit of my stomach for the past 2 days. Last night It was as if something snapped inside of me and I asked myself "what in the hell are you thinking traveling to the Dominican Republic for such a procedure". I had a real in depth conversation with myself last night and I came to realize I have been such a nervous wreck because of so much uncertainty. I've seen great work performed by many plastic surgeons in DR, but there are also many wonderful plastic surgeons here in the states. Although my parents are Domi ican natives, I have never personally visited the country and although Ive heard through the grapevine, I am not familiar myself with DRs medical practices. Although the surgeon I chose to go with has performed amazing work on a few family members, and although he has informed me he has performed fleur de lis tummy tucks in the past, he doesnt have photos of these procedures hes performed, so I dont even have somewhat of an idea that I can refer to. I am a very rational person, very detailed in my research and last night I came to the realixation that I have gone about this whole process all wrong. 1. Ive had no formal consultation with the DR because he is in another country. I was scheduled for my consult with him the day before my surgery. 2. I have no idea how or what his technique is for a fleur de lis tummy tuck as he has no before or after photos. 3. The possibility of an infection with a fleur de lis tummy tuck is greater than a traditional tt. What if I get an infection? How would I be treated medically in the DR? 4. What if I have some kind of complication post op after I have returned to the states? I am sure it will b difficult for a doctor to treat me here in the US for liability purposes, that means i would have to go back to the DR.
5. I asked myself why? Why not habe the procedure done here in the states, where you feel comfortable, where your family and loved ones are?
6. I came to the realization that the only reason I was going to DR is because of the $$$. The thought of saving thousands lured me in. But I cant put myself in that situation. A situation I am so unsure and uninformed about. That is irrational and I am not an irrational person. So I have decided to retract on my plans of having my procedure done in the Dominican Republic. I will research doctors here in the states and proceed accordingly. My heart feels good about this decision. My hearts is at peace.

How scary are these photos?!?!
