a new me and new beginnings in 2014!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - Mobile, AL

WELL I HAVE NT POSTED IN A LONG TIME , BUT HERE ARE MY UPDATES!!!! WELL I FINISHED MY LAST PCP VISIT ON APRIL 17 2014, ( I HAD TO HAVE 6 MONTHS VISITS) ,MY DR SENT IN PAPER WORK TO INSURANCE COMPANY. THE INSURANCE COMPANY APPROVED THE SURGERY ON MAY 2, I GOT MY LETTER FROM INSURANCE ON MAY 8, 2014, AND ON MAY 9 THE SURGEONS OFFICE CALLED MY TO SCEHDULE MY NUTRITION CLASS ON MAY 20. I FINISHED MY NUTRITION CLASS WITH A LOT OF INFO, BUT I GOT A LOT OF INFO FROM OTHER WEIGHT LOSS FORUMS, AND MY COWORKER, AND A FAMILY FRIEND THAT HAD THE GASTRIC SLEEVE.AFTER THE NUTRITION CLASS , THE SURGEONS OFFICE CALLED ME TO SCEDULE MY 2ND APPT WITH SURGEON FOR JUNE 2. WELL JUNE 2 HAS COME AND GONE AND NOW I HAVE MY PRE OPS SCHEDULED FOR JUNE 5 AT 8:30. I AM TAKING THE WHOLE DAY OFF FROM WORK. AND THEN ON JUNE 18 2014, I HAVE TO SEE A PULMONOGIST BECAUSE I HAVE SLEEP APNEA ( JUST ANOTHER SAFETY MEASURE, AND THANK GOD FOR THE SAFETY MEASURES). AND THEN ON JULY 5, 2014 I WILL START MY 10 PRE OP LIQUID DIET, AND FINALLY MY SURGERY DATE IS JULY 15, 2014. ITS BEEN A LONG TIME TIME COMING, BUT IT WILL BE WELL WORTH THE WEIGHT(LOL). I AM GOING TO KEEP CHECKING POSTS AND UPDATING. KEEP ME IN YOUR PRAYERS. I AM PRAYING FOR EVERYBODY AS WELL , BECAUSE WITHOUT THE LORD ON OUR SIDE NONE OF THIS WOULD BE POSSIBLE.......GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU.

My name is katrina my highest weight is 347 pounds. i have been big all my life. i have arthritis in both hips, lower back, pre diabetic, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, and now i am starting to feel the pain in my knee. my coworker had the sleeve done in october of 2013. when she was getting ready to have her surgery , she asked to me to do it,but i said no because i was going to do it the natural way. well i did do it the natural way and lost 24 pounds but it wasnt fast enough to relieve the pain so my orthopedic doctor sugested the vsg surgery.after seeing how well my coworker was and is doing she convinced me to give it a try.when she decided to do the surgery she had to promise that if she did and survived, that i would do it, well im not only keeping my word but i am also keeping my word to myself cuz i know i need to do this surgery. its not for my children , family, not to fit in the tiny clothes, but its for me and my health. i have only told a few people, which by now more probably know. i have not told my family except 1 brother and my sis in law. well i made my firs pcpc vist on oct 15 2013. i made visit to the surgeon on dec 2 2013. my psychological visit was in january. my last pcp visit is on april 17 2014 thats 2 more days. once i make that last visit and she faxes my info in then it will be down hill from there. im excited although i dont show it, but i am. iam ready to be able to go to sleep without a cpap machine. i am ready to stop taking pills pills pills. i am ready to be able to get out of the bed without hurting so bad. i dont want a hip replacement which if i dont get this weght off will happen. i work in the medical field and i hav seen so many people having the vsg done, all with positive results. its just like u would be surprised to know who has had it done. the only thing that gets under my skin is people who have it done, lie and say they just exercised and ate right. when the lord bless me to make it through the surgery, i will not lie about how i lost so much weight. i am gonna tell my story about being anti social, low self esteem, not wanna go to outings or gatherings, because of my weight.i know my coworker is just as excited for me as i am for myself. she knows how i feel because we were the same weight, and height. so now its gonna be a whole new me. i told my family back in december, that in 2014 its a new beginnig and a new me.i wiil keep postings about my journey.
