On my first day out from the SmartLipo procedure....

On my first day out from the SmartLipo procedure. I had my stomach and flanks done. I did a ton of research beforehand, reading the good and bad reviews, before deciding to move forward with the procedure. While I cannot yet attest to the final results, I will share with you my thoughts on the procedure and recovery.

My doctor used the numbing fluid mixture to numb the whole area that was to be lipo'd. I was very scared that it would be painful after reading alot of reviews here, but I have to say...I barely felt a thing! The most sensitive area was right around the belly button, which my Doctor warned me about beforehand. However, it felt like a quick sting every once in a while and was very tolerable. The flanks were a piece of cake. Never felt a thing, other than the poke of the shot to numb the incision point.

After the procedure, I walked out, on my own, to my husband waiting for me. The look on his face when I came out and smiled at him and said hello was hilarious! He later said he expected me to be wheeled out in a wheelchair and to have to help me walk and get into the car! He was even more shocked when I suggested we go out to eat on the way home. We did, and I was very comfortable the whole night. I did take the prescribed pain pill in the evening and have continued to take it every six hours today.

I would liken the feeling today (again, day 1 of my recovery) to a feeling of a very strenuous workout and bruised feeling. Sore, yes. Painful, not really at all. I have been up and about, doing things around the home and even took some client calls from my home office, which I did not expect to be able to do on day 1 of recovery. To say I am surprised at the least with how easy it has been is an understatement. I can only hope that I am as pleasantly surprised with the end results!

My doctor is having me come in for an ultrasound treatment on Friday (today is Tuesday), and is going to do some Accent treatments on the area to aid in the results and healing. I'll update again when I have some more info to add! So far, I'm very pleased.
