I am writing my review a year after my breast implant procedure. I have to say hands down that Dr. Tholen is THE best around. I am SO happy with the outcome. A year out and my breasts look amazing and appear to only get better and better. I went from a 36 B- to a 36DD. I had small saggy breasts from nursing 2 kids. I hated it. I could not wait to improve my appearance for ME.
Dr. Tholen is skilled and without question can determine what size implants are best according to body proportion. What impressed me most was that he LISTENS and does not rush his clients. I received a packet of information from Dr. Tholen prior to my consult that answered SO many of my questions. I found this very helpful leading up to my consult.
Prior to this, I did a consult with a popular doctor in Edina and the facility sparkled, but the service did not match. Not to mention the facility was a busy medical building and parking was a nightmare. This particular Dr. was quick with answers and did not listen to my requests nor did he take the time to really look at my 'wish' photos. In fact, did not get all of my questions answered. I was handed over to a financial person who gave me a pricey quote on a single piece of paper and a business card. I left knowing that he was not the person I wanted to do my surgery. My second consult was scheduled with Dr. Tholen and the facility is easy to get to and very quiet and private. I live 1.5 hours away and Dr. Tholens office is simple to find and no issues with parking. The office is small and welcoming and his staff were friendly. My consult was great. Dr. Tholen is so personable! He did not rush and appeared to listen and take the time to look at my photos. I am in the fitness industry and is was very important to me to find a Dr. who understands my career and the look that I prefer. He heard my concerns and he made me feel comfortable. The assistant with him also took extra time to answer questions before and after my consult. The consult included time with the assistant, Dr. Tholen, a staff member who had me try on sizers, and time with the the financial gal. Even with all of this i NEVER felt rushed or pressured. I felt like it was a very complete consultation. During the financial part of the appointment I was pleasantly surprised with the fees and give Sara 5 stars for being clear and offering such great services with no pressure. I immediately picked my date and scheduled. I felt 100% confident with Dr. Tholen and his staff. The location and on site surgical center cannot be beat! It makes the procedure completely easy. I had my surgery on a Friday afternoon and my post op appt was scheduled for the very next morning on Saturday to see Dr. Tholen. I was given a band to wear and we discussed pain meds, specific 'exercises' to do during the healing process, and again he was available to answer any of my questions. It was that simple!
Following surgery I followed his rules of what to avoid. I had no issues at all. I played it safe for 2 weeks in not lifting overhead or lifting more than 5 pounds. I was able to go back to teaching cardio classes after 2 weeks and able to do more impact exercises at about 4 weeks.
Dr. Tholen knows his stuff and is great at determining size based on body proportion and client expectations. Trust his judgement and do not fear going 'too big' I had that thought initially and sure enough he knew was size was best for me.
Dr. Tholen was fantastic! I was referred to him by 2 friends and I have since referred 4 friends to him! They agree his is the BEST. He comes highly recommended!!!! I love my results and feel it is the best thing I have done for myself!! Worth every penny!!!!
