10 Days PO.... I'm so Thankful I had my Breast Reduction and I'm LOVING my TT!

I had a post op appointment this morning with my PS. She said that I was healing really well and that my incisions looked good. She said that I can start using lotion (one that I know works well for my skin) to keep my incisions moist as they continue to heal. I think I'm going to try bio-oil. I've heard a lot of positive information on that product. On the box it said to apply it in circular motions and rub it all in. It says that it absorbs into the skin well and helps to reduce the appearance of scarring.

I was told that the PS removed 2 pounds of breast tissue. I asked about the pathology report (more out of curiosity than anything) and was told that my results came back and there was a spot that came back slightly abnormal. She said I do NOT have breast cancer but she is referring me to an oncologist because now I'm considered to be "High" Risk. I do not have a family history of breast cancer. My mom had "Fibrous" Breast Tissue and had numerous biopsies when I was in high school and all her results came back normal. This is what I believed I had as well (And, maybe it is what she had 27+ years ago but the testing is better now). I have something called Atypical Lobular Hyperplasia (ALH). I will honestly say I felt so sick to my stomach on the drive home. I am so thankful that I had this reduction. I truly feel like I have a Guardian Angel on my shoulder pointing me in the right direction.

I will be going back to the PS in another week to have the stitches removed from my BB. She said all my incisions are looking good. She said that I can start to slowly wean myself out of my binder. I said I took it off yesterday because I got so hot that my BB started to feel irritated under the gauze and binder. But I do notice that when it's off, the swelling does increase. She said that when I start to notice the swelling, that's when I should put it back on for some extra support. She said she removed 2.5 pounds off my stomach. She didn't say anything about the lipo, and I forgot to ask about it after I heard about the breast pathology. She said there wasn't any pathology back yet on the stomach tissue.

I keep going back and forth right now between freaking out a little, and so grateful that my doctor suggested the BR in the first place. If it hadn't been for my mammogram letter about dense tissue, along with my back and neck issues, I don't honestly think I would have ever gone in and asked about a BR. I always (jokingly) said I'd love a TT and BR, but truly never thought in a million years it would happen. I feel truly blessed right now. My husband and I agreed to not say anything to our kids for a week because our daughter is in the midst of finals for grad school. After Friday she'll have a month off from school. Maybe by then I'll have a better grasp on everything along with an appointment for an oncology consultation.... I want to be as informed as I possibly can.

2 Days PO

I slept so good last night. What a relief after the first night. I mainly have pain when I get up to walk and when I'm sitting back down. I do get the burning feeling but I think that's mainly from my MR and where the drains are sewn in. I tried taking a shower last night but got really lightheaded and needed to lay back down. My husband has really been incredible.

He has to leave for a class this morning so my daughter will sit by me. She's in grad school to become a PT so she can practice her lifts with me. I have my basket full of goodies next to me. I'm all set for another day of healing.

I have seen Dr. Luong twice so far for two separate consultations. She is kind, straight forward, and willing to sit and answer any questions I may have. I believe that she will do a fantastic job. I have another appointment with her in the morning, then my surgery in 10 days.
