It's been a while...

So, life has been busy as usual. I have been feeling amazing. It is still hard for my brain to realize the changes in my body. I was wearing size 18 (even some 20's) in my waist before the surgery. Now, I'm wearing a size 14! I have lost some more weight via a low carb diet, but still - that's a HUGE difference so suddenly. At times, my scar will feel a little irritated or my belly button will be a little red, but overall I only feel a little pull sometimes when moving. Working with Dr. Johnson has been awesome. He's a caring doctor and I am so glad I chose him. I'm talking with him now about my arms - weight training now and in a month or so we are going to try lipo on them first because he doesn't think I will like the scarring from an arm lift. Another reason I love him - he doesn't want to rush into anything just to operate. Here are some updated pictures. Note, I did eat a huge dinner last night :) At my last check-up, Dr. Johnson said I still have some swelling that will continue to flatten out over the next month or two. Overall, I am so happy! Oh and don't be shocked at my scar. I had 5 abdominal surgeries before this tummy tuck and knew going in I wouldn't have a "standard" symmetrical scar. It looks so much better than before that it doesn't bother me one bit :)

So far so good - the Spanx garment is doing great. I still have a lot of swelling, especially on the sides, but it's getting better each day. Remember my surgery was reconstructive first, to correct my abdominal wall from previous tumor damage. Tummy tuck was bonus. Posting a pic :)

8 days later...

I keep forgetting to take pics. I will try to remember tomorrow. Everything is going great. I had my 2nd follow/up appt and Dr J is happy with my progress. Suggested I buy a Spanx garment to wear since the one they bought was killing me. Found one at the mall on the way home and it feels so much better. We are using overnight maxi pads to cover the scars. I'm still taking it easy. I'm not lifting anything or doing much at all besides watch Netflix or computer work. I'm still sleeping in the recliner - seems to be the easiest way to get up and down. I walk around the house a lot and yesterday I camped out in the sunroom all day with the windows open and fresh air. So far this surgery has been a breeze compared to my previous surgeries. I am exhausted though from being out today and it's time for a nap. I will try to remember to take pics tomorrow.

Provider Review

Dr. Ronald Johnson, M.D.

Consultation time was not rushed. Dr. Johnson was very understanding, personable, and above all, knowledgable. Office was nice. Office staff was super friendly and caring. Reviewed his portfolio and work looks amazing. Dr. Johnson offered realistic expectations and didn't make outlandish promises like some other doctors I interviewed.
