Need Some Reassurance - Massachusetts
ORIGINAL POST

$3,000
I just had my breast reduction on the 26th, and I'm not happy with the results. Two days post-op I loved everything. I was the size I wanted to be, and my breasts were perky. Now I feel like I'm larger than I was pre-op and I still fit into my old bras. I also have one breast larger than the other. Someone reassure me that it's just swelling and I will be where I want to be.

Jessica...what size did you go down to?...when i had mine (2008), it felt like they still fit into the old bra's but you are so very fresh from surgery...give it time ...as it heals, it should take more of a real shape and size...i wish i did mine sooner...;0)
I was supposed to go down to a small C, but I think I'm at a D, which means I didn't go down much at all. I'm hoping things change once the swelling subsides. I also have one that seems to be much larger than the other.
ok, definitely give it time...it will take its tru size...is the other one thats larger...much larger?...cuz i can tell one of mine is as well...but its not that noticeable...be sure you address any issues you notice to your PS as soon as possible and what corrections can be made...sometimes they can correct things...for eg. the stictching that creates a little bump on the outer side of the breast...my PS had to cut those to fix...a few months after....
Did you have to pay for your surgeon to fix the little on outer breast?
nope...paid nothing extra...not even for the consults or follow ups post op...even 2-3 years later....
Who was your PS, he sounds awesome. I don't think my will do that for me, because I addressed the issue at my six week checkup and he said that the insurance proabably will not a revision (one of my breast is larger than the other one).
that is very unfortunate....i would address with him again...esp if it is very noticeable...i would hold him accountable to correct....My PS is Dr. Steven Belinkie...he is adorable...and i paid with my own money (not insurance)...so I did not let anyone tell me how small to reduce it to...i pretty much dictated the entire deal....but he really did do an awesome job for the most part....i remember telling him I wanted the reduction as small as humanly and safely as possible...and he said at first he will do a C...and i insisted...and said oh no....if i had my way i'd prefer none...so i told him to reduce as close to nothing as he could...he didnt like the idea...but i told him it wasnt his body or his choice...;0)....turns out...i was reduced to an A...very small B...and I love it...no regrets...I personally do not like boobs...big ones esp...not my thing...i dont worry about what others like...its my body and i have to live with ...lol...one of the best well spent things i ever did...and I was a full D....now i measure a 32 Barely B they call it....what a difference in my clothes....
I'm nearly two weeks post-op and I too can fit into my old bras. But before I was flooding out of my bras and now some of them actually fit, so you maybe experiencing the same thing. Let the swelling go down, it'll get better. Did you fully discuss your projected size with you doctor? It's funny because I thought for sure I was really small post, maybe a B cup, but I went to VS today, I'm still a D! It's funny how a D can fill so small now! Hang in there, it'll get better.
i am feeling the same way but im trying to not panic myself

According to doctors, you are still quite swollen and shouldn't expect to see final results for 3 to 6 months. Here's a post from a woman who had the same fear. As far as the asymmetry goes, that could be swelling as well, but if you want more reassurance, you should probably check with your plastic surgeon on that one. He or she and their staff should be available to answer post-op questions from you.
