just an update

So it's been a few months and I'm healing very very well...

I wrote this long ass rocking review and my tab...

I wrote this long ass rocking review and my tab crashes!..so here we go.
I met dr schlenker around February for a rhinoplasty consulattion. I live in Boston and prior to meeting him I went to a teaching hospital in blston. I was told that due to my keloid on my neck they were afraid I would keloid under and around my nose. Now let me just say that as a black woman wanting to have rhinoplasty..it comes with some looks and stigma..people assume you want to be European or hate your culture..neither was true for me. I have lost over 90 pounds and just started noticing how my profile would be better with a nose suited for my face. My nose was flat wide and bulbous. So anyhow the teaching hospital decloned working with me and also stated they were not well versed in african american noses..I stated to them I sis not want a Caucasian nose. So after being denied I reached out to a teaching hospital in ny( see a trend here of teaching hospitals..I prefer them because they are much cheaper and they have Drs who work along the fellowships) I was told by this teaching hospital that my bmi was to high..I'm like I never heard of u having to have a stable bmi for rhino.I then contacted NYEE..dr schlenker called me a few days later and consulted with me. I could tell that he was sincere in wanting to help me. He also voiced his concern over my keloids. I stated to him I understood the possible risk of keloids again but it's a small risk for what I wanted to do. We set up an in person consultation and he took some photos and told me the game plan. Which would be in order to raise my bridge they would need to take cartilage from the back of my ear and also my scalp. He stated he would ask two dr who may be able to assist him. He and I communicated via email..o was persistent by emailing him to make sure he did not forget me. He states one dr had agreed to work on my case but later declined stating he thought I would not be a good candidate due to my keloids. The second dr agreed and was well versed in using cartilage.
The day of my surgery went well..I stayed overnight at a hotel in times Square with my cousin and came back to the hospital on Saturday for him to remove my packing.Man that was the most painful ever..and I've had my tonsils taken out .I felt as he was trying to remove the packing like he was pushing it in further and I was scared.
I left back for boston and returned a week later for him to remove the bandages. I felt I looked like a pig..my nose was so swollen. He stated it would take months to a year to see the true results. It's been a few months and I am very pleased. I had my last follow up with Dr schlenker on 6.12.15 as he is moving to HOLLYWOOD( riight..can we say fancy) to work at a practice there. I felt we both helped eachother out. He gave me the nose I wanted and I helped him build his portfolio for future keloid patients. So far no keloids and hoping it stays so..he stated if I were to keloid it would have probably started showing by now. The scar behind my ear and scalp have healed wonderfully..it's hard to even tell.
