Consultation review: First Consult with Dr Oelbrandt - Not a Nice Experience! - London, GB

So, after 14 years I finally booked my first consult. I came across Dr Oelbrandt and his reviews were good so I made an appointment. I had my nose broken in 2006 and had it corrected twice, nothing major just a slight bump taken down. I guess they saw me as maybe being a 'complicated' surgery, so I was put in to see another FFS surgeon on the same day and who tends to work with Dr O on 'complicated' rhino's. I saw the first surgeon and he was lovely, made me feel at ease and said what he'd do etc...not many before and after pics tho, then I went in to see Dr O and after taking 5/6 pictures of my nose he set about asking me to show him what I wanted..feeling nervous already I guess I started to confuse him and myself but he said the total opposite to what the other surgeon said he'd do!! Considering they normally work together in the same operating room on the same patient made me worry. I was hoping he would consult me, tell me what would work and what wouldn't, be clear and precise, not make me feel stupid for being there and not even show me a final, possible, end result of how my nose could look like! I left there confused but glad I went as he is not the kind of surgeon or person in general I'd want to operate on me. I emailed his PA asking maybe the 2 surgeons could talk about my nose and come to a conclusion but that was not done, I then asked if I could get my own pictures with how my nose could look like but was firmly told that he didn't send out patients pictures and maybe I should go to another surgeon who would do that!! I never wanted another patients pictures, I wanted my own..once he realised it was too late, there was no way I'd let him touch my nose! I then went on to express my disappointment to his PA and got nothing back! No sorry, or to maybe come back in, nothing. So...my thoughts on Dr O? Gutted that it turned out this way as I did read good reviews but honestly, his before and after pictures weren't that great so even before all this I wouldn't have booked with him. I'm now booked in to see Dr Rajan Uppal in a few months and hoping it'll be a better experience, will keep you posted and if anyone has used Dr Uppal for rhino then pls get in touch x
